I won't disagree at all. It's well within his capabilities. Winning the Big Game isn't.This is Cutler's last year. I'll bet he'll bust out for 4500 yards, 30 TDs and do well enough to get himself a ~$40M contract.
Well Cutler is still better than half the quarterbacks in NFL right now, just look at your Blaine Gabberts, EJ Manuels, Jake Lockers, Christian Ponders, Ryan Tannehills, Geno SMiths, Terrelle Pryors, Alex Smiths, Brandon Weedens, etc.I won't disagree at all. It's well within his capabilities. Winning the Big Game isn't.
real question is, was he really ever in, is what she said.
Just stop. For once we could have an actual football discussion without regurgitating the same old four troll QB conversations.C'mon,
Jay Cutler's worst season is still better than Alex Smith's best season. I'm not even exaggerating. Go look at the stats.
Speaking of inconsistency and replacement officials(rant incoming), let me just add I'm still pissed about the saints week 3? or 4? loss to the kc chiefs last year. The saints had two touchdowns reversed in that game. I just saw a replay from the texans/chargers game monday night where a guy dove for the end zone and the ball hit the pylon before going out of bounds, the play was ruled not a touchdown, challenged, and correctly ruled a touchdown. One of the touchdowns that wasreversedlast year was a play that looked just like that. Except it was correctly ruled a touchdown, the replay clearly showed the ball hitting the pylon before the player went out of bounds, yet they overturned the touchdown and placed the ball on the 1/2 yard line. The officials, replacement officials, most assuredly cost the saints that game last year, but people didn't grab their pitchforks until it cost gb a game a week later. There is a world of difference between starting 1-3 and starting 0-4 where you just blew a 20 point lead in the last game, and it was because the two touchdowns were reversed when they should not have been(the one hitting the pylon that clearly shouldn't have been overturned and the other one was a judgement call because there was no clear evidence in those circumstances you stay with the call on the field). It really took the wind out of the saints sails and gave me no hope without sean payton. The saints, despite no head coach and the worst defense in nfl history, was still in the playoff picture week 16, and had the officials not cost them the game against the kcc would have put the saints in control of their own destiny and they would have been in if they won week 17.It's the inconsistency across the board that kills me more than anything. The replacements proved to us that not everyone can do the job, but if you're going to do it at least try to make sure it's consistent from game to game. The NFL isn't doing enough to make sure everyone is on the same page, and nothing is ever done for the colossal fuckups to try to hammer down that point.
It was a big enough play/mistake that it didn't need to be on MNF to have an effect, but MNF sure as fuck did help it.Saints wouldn't have done anything in the playoffs anyway. And everyone pointed to the GB-SEA game because it was MNF. Everyone was watching it.
