The stupid ass, knuckle-dragging, slope-headed troglodyte that writes Yahoo's NFL power rankings still lists the 5-0 Chiefs at #7, behind the 2-2 Packers at #6.

Jimmies rustled.

Romo is a good quarterback.

But he'll always be a loser. it's in his genes.

So Hard Knocks is going to get their pick of which team they want to follow starting next year (sort of).

The NFL wants to spread "Hard Knocks" around.

At their fall meetings Tuesday, owners approved a measure that allows the league to choose which team will be the focus of the documentary-style show if no club volunteers.

Certain teams would be exempt from being forced to participate:

. Those with new coaches

. Those that reached the playoffs in one of the previous two seasons

. Those that appeared on "Hard Knocks" within the preceding 10 years

So far, only seven of the league's 32 teams have been on the series, which airs on HBO: the Dallas Cowboys (twice), Cincinnati Bengals (twice), New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars and Kansas City Chiefs.

I agree with not basing rankings purely on record, but that's just stupid.

It just further enforces my belief that the "experts" don't know more than you and me. Now the people that make the spreads on the other hand..

Those exemptions pretty much guarantee the show will never happen without a volunteer.

Previous two seasons worth of playoff participants is probably 16-18 teams off the bat (figuring 2 teams don't repeat, which is conservative). Those with new coaches eliminates about 6-8 bottom feeders, and probably another 2 from teams where the coach just decides to do something else. So that leaves maybe 6 teams, and they have to have never been on the show (past decade).

Romo is Brett Favre, without the benefit of ever having one of the best defenses in the league backing him up like Favre did with the 96 Packers. The 96 Packers had the #1 scoring defense in the league, only giving up 210 points on the season, that's only 13 points per game. People seem to forget that while Favre is the all time NFL touchdown leader, he's also the all time NFL interception leader, by a MUCH bigger margin than the TD record. 336 career INT, 2nd place is 277. Thats 17% more than the 2nd place.

Romo could win playoff games no problem with a top-10 defense. Could also win a Super Bowl with the #1 Defense.

Yeah, but Brett Favre was just a kid having fun out there, tossing the ole' pigskin

Romo looks like a broken old man every time he takes the field. You can see the fatalism and the resignation in his eyes in every sideline shot and every interview.

He's better than Favre, outside of the ring. Better completion %, better TD/int ratio, better yards per attempt, way better passer rating, etc.

I'd say an offensive line is more important to Romo (or any great passing QB) to winning in the playoffs/Superbowl than a great defense - although a defense that creates turnovers is helpful (e.g. 2009 Saints). This is the best O-line Romo has had since 2007 and it's still not great, merely average. A great QB can pick apart any defense if his O-line gives him enough time.

Sometimes I think Arysar doesn't even like football he just likes talking mad shit. He's been on the attack with Romo so fierce this season, and of course the thread is loaded with Dallas fans and they play the Bears this season. /obvious

He is butt hurt that Romo is better than Cutler in every single way imaginable but Romo sucks and Cutler is great, the cognitive dissonance is eating away at him.

LOL. No idea what you mean. I've been sporting the blue and orange blood since the Craig Morton days.
Could you hop on the saints or chiefs bandwagon instead? I already feel bad enough I like LeBron...
