The Redskins aren't losing money, therefore there will never be a change. The dumbest part of that article is if the Redskins were to win a Super Bowl, it'd force the issue. I'm pretty sure that would actually do the exact opposite. The more people supporting the team during success, the less likely they'll be to change anything. Considering how much the team makes when they suck complete fucking ass, well, you figure it out.

About a month ago I was listening to the radio, there were heavily dominated american indian high schools, who's fucking nicknames were the REDSKINS. They dont give a shit about the name, there were other examples of similar names used at schools with mostly or have a heavy american indian population and the principals and superintendents all said they think its a GREAT name and shows more of a warrior side than anything discriminatory towards them. I havent followed this situation with Washington all to much, but I wouldnt doubt if most of the cries are coming from non american indians.
I think all the cries are coming from non-native Americans. I'm not sure what the motivation behind it is, but it's pretty apparent this is one of those hipster fake outrages that people love so much these days. Let's just be upset about everything because fuck it, why not?

Rich white people love to tell everyone else what they should be offended about. I'm pretty sure every time a poll is taken among the native american population about the Redskin name the heavy majority responds as saying they either like the name or they couldn't care less.
Last I saw 90%+ of the native American population was either positive or indifferent about the name. Honestly who wouldn't take pride in a sports franchise naming themselves after your heritage?
