Is it just me, or has this year been especially bad for injuries? The Patriots have been hit pretty hard by them, that's for sure.
That pushing penalty/rule is complete bullshit. How many times do you see an offensive player get stopped short of the firstdown/touchdown and then a bunch of guys behind him push him forward. I think that happens in almost every single game. For some reason the defensive guys can't do it though?

That's pretty much why they protect QB's so much since if they go down it can mean a whole season.
Late season injuries are way worse imho, then ones they can come back from.

The teams know this as well. You can totally tell that Kaepernick has been strictly forbidden to take a hit. He slides as soon as a defender starts to get close. I think they're being more careful with him than last year also because Alex Smith isn't sitting on the bench ready to go in if he gets hurt.
