Any sports news I care about I read on Twitter, or an aggregate news site closer associated with my local teams - Sportscenter just seems like an outdated presentation with the speed of social media, they need to rework some things or they will keep losing viewers for their non-game porgramming.

Not much faith in Atlanta making the playoffs in this thread.
I wasn't very impressed with them in any of the games I watched last season. It seemed more like they just caught a lot of lucky breaks. The Panthers game and Seattle playoff game were two big ones where you're just like...you've gotta be shitting me.

I forget, do we have to have predictions in before the first game of week 1 or first game of preseason? If it's week 1... yeah I'll wait.

It doesn't matter who wins divisions. Ravens repeat. Genj and Grimm cry themselves into a pillars of salt. It's gonna be a good year.

I think the Falcons are pretty underrated. Their regular season wasn't all that impressive, but they shredded the fuck out of the 2 best defenses in the NFC in the playoffs and could have won both games. Matt Ryan was on fire in the postseason, and they replaced Turner with Steven Jackson. Jackson may be old, but he's still a great RB, and a pretty big upgrade over what they had.

No Vikings love anywhere. It's ok, I wouldn't pick them for the playoffs this year either. However, I didn't think they had a chance in hell last season so who knows.

They overperformed last year after underperforming the year before, expect some regression to the mean. 7-9.

Thing is they have more talent on both sides of the ball than they did last year. Ultimately I agree with you though. I don't think it'll be that bad, but I wouldn't bet money either way. They probably wont be a playoff team but if they would end up there I wouldn't totally shocked either.

Don't forget it gives Matt Ryan a very nice short range dump off target. They don't even need to run the ball, just have him drop back every play and pitch/short pass to Jackson if nothing is open.

Dump off is a pretty unreliable skill. You still frequently have to worry about interceptions, not to mention tackle zones on the intended receiver. I would never take it on a passer, so unless you're talking about Dark Elves, it's a non-issue.

I don't know, check down Ray Rice has been pretty faithful stuff. Not sure on the actual stats though or really if its easy to find.

Who is starting at QB for the Vikings anyway? Ponder? Will he play a whole season? Will he get benched for Cassell? Will AP remain productive and healthy? How will the receiving corps turn out? Not sure what to expect is the thing. I do think that division is wide open for any team to emerge on top.

I would have put the Falcons in but they seem to be an up year down year sort of team. Last year would be the up year.

Plus I'd imagine the Saints will bounce back this year. And who knows if the Bucs or Panthers might look surprisingly better. Tampa certainly has been spending money IIRC.

I've never been able to take Tampa Bay seriously as a football franchise, but I can't put my finger on why, exactly. Same with the Arizona Cardinals, but that's mainly because of their joke of an owner.

Tampa Bay won a Super Bowl 10 years ago.

Not really refuting you, it's just a fact that mildly blows my mind every time I remember it.

If RGKnee is somehow healthy, I'm leaning towards them.

Josh Freeman is the answer, all the high priced free agents they get it just doesn't really matter because Josh Freeman sucks. The best thing that could happen for them is for Freeman to get hurt and their rookie Glennon get a shot, then they might be scary.

That started out with "Josh Freeman is the answer" and I was like, wait, Burnem thinks Freeman will solve all their problems?

I can't figure that guy out. He first came into the league and I thought he really would be the answer. Almost like a Russell Wilson type player. But man has he sucked recently.
