Since always, but in this case it's a tough call because Pats could argue the PI prevented him from being able to attempt a catch. Usually the "uncatchable" rule is used for wildly over/under-thrown passes.
The Brady f-bomb to the head official definitely came through for me...although I don't blame him in this case. Example #271636 of how inconsistent and subjective pass interference is in the NFL. Really tired of these shit calls week after week, given the game changing yardage you can get on a PI call I can't believe there aren't better efforts to standardize this shit.
Yeah, on one hand I can see the logic they're using to negate the penalty. However, I think if Gronk wasn't being molestered in front of 80,000 people it is well within his capabilities to get back to the ball and prevent the interception, even if he couldn't catch it.

PI should be, at most, 15 yards (maybe an auto First Down, maybe).

Looking at the standings, when the hell did the Cardinals get to 6-4 (with wins vs. Lions and Panthers, no less!)? I certainly wouldn't have pegged them for ending around .500.

I've watched Kuechly a few times this season, and I don't get the hype. He's good, but not blue chip.
Cardinals defense was baller last year. Imagine the Chiefs except instead of bringing in Alex "Volvo" Smith they brought in the corpse of Carson "Home of the back breaking int" Palmer.

Any other team or quarterback in the nation underthrows a pass by 5 yards and has it intercepted and you don't hear a word about pass interference.

Keep on blaming the refs, forget the fact that you were gifted a PI to extend your drive further, or that there was a no call on the intentional grounding, which would have resulted in a 10 second run off, or the fact that you failures let it get this close to begin with.

There is no way Gronk had a chance to even come back with or without being raped. He'd have to ankle break himself just to stop his momentum and then at best he could swat the ball away from the person who originally intercepted the ball. Keep living the dream Pats fans.
