Running up the score is when you just try to score as many points as possible when losing's not a possibility anymore and you'd be better served running out the clock. Belichick's the only coach in the NFL that actively does this
no way, the feelings part is the only reason its discussed.
without that connotation its illogical given players make $ on performance. Why WOULDNT you score at all costs considering player X Y Z A B C make literal dollars on balls they catch, tackles they make etc
lol if i had a 100k bonus riding on me catching 50 balls and the coach subs me out or tells us to take it easy because we're up by a bunch... i mean fuck that guy

You definitely don't know what you're talking about. A coach is taking a huge risk by going for deep passes with 3 minutes left up by 30. If one of their star players gets injured it's on the coach, and there's no reason for it other than to be a dick.
Unless you're saying the '07 Patriots ran up the score so their players could get bigger contracts?
Losing is always possible. Remember the Desean Jackson punt return to win it game vs. the Giants? This is also the NFL. If you cannot prevent another team from scoring 50+ points, its not because the other teams are assholes, its because you need to play better. If Denver scores 75 points tonight, good for them. It just means that the Patriots have to go back to the drawing board on their schemes/personnel, or they just say fuck it and assume that missing nearly half the starters on your defense isnt possible to overcome.
Either way, putting up a ton of points tonight doesnt make Denver assholes.
NBC must have had a boner for this game all season long - and it's a lopsided shitfest. Talk about bad luck after a season of mostly good Sunday nighters.
