Tony Romo has thrown an Int 7 times in 4th quarter/OT w/ his team tied or leading by 1 possession, nearly twice as many as any QB since '06.
If by "twice as many" you mean he has 1 more than Tom Bradey, then sure. He also has the 3rd best QBR since 2006 in 4th quarters behind only P. Manning and Brees. That's right, boys and girls, he's better in the 4th quarter since 2006 than the Golden Boy (TM).

Except for the first 3 quarters in every game, the super bowls, and the eventual first ballot hall of fame election....you basically have two equal quarterbacks?

Well, what the hell does "best in the 4th quarter" even mean? It's not a meaningful statistic. Full games actually matter...since you need all 4 quarters to determine the winner and all.

And yeah...I'm a Redskins fan. I hate my own garbage dump of a team lately more than the rest of the league but I still thoroughly enjoy the continuing misery in Dallas.

Neither is the number of interceptions thrown off your left foot in the 2nd half while down by 7 or less.... but if it ended up Romo threw the most, you'd see Romo haters quoting it like some kind of mutated turrets where people can only spout useless Anti-Romo stats. Romo is not a top-5 QB in the NFL, but he sure as hell isn't bottom 50% either. He's an above average QB on a team with the worst GM since Al Davis went senile. That's all.

I've actually been quite fair to Romo this season. The toxic Dallas defense is clearly a boat anchor around his neck and I wouldn't expect him to put up 40+ every week to compensate for it being so worthless.

Just seeing a comparison to Tom Brady was kind of a head scratcher. Brady, love him or hate him, has a career full of clutch wins and consistent winning regardless of what else they have on the team on any given year.

Did someone really reference QBR? The stat that shows Kaepernick having a mediocre game in a blowout of Jacksonville is the best game of the year and Peyton's 7TD masterpiece against the defending champs is the 58th best?

That stat? Yeah.

In news that is far more realistic than the retarded "Tony Romo is clutch!" line: The Steelers can still make the playoffs! If there's a 3 way tie between them, NYJ, and Miami at 8-8 they win the tiebreakers! Sounds dumb? IT IS! See, division record comes in to play before head to head, so NYJ will eliminate Miami based on that. THEN because Head to Head comes next the Steelers will eliminate the Jets!

So now I have to make a spreadsheet to figure out who I'm pulling for over the next couple weeks.

Pretty crazy week of football. Also it was nice to see my fellow 49er fans in this thread whining their way through another win.

Right now the only team I fear in the playoffs is the Seahawks. I am rooting for the Panthers to beat Seattle in Seattle. They are the only team aside from the 49ers that I think is capable of it. I don't think it's a guaranteed loss if SF goes to Seattle again, but I would prefer not to find out.

Five 8-8 teams tie (Steelers, Dolphins, Chargers, Jets, Ravens) and the Steelers make the playoffs would probably fuel the argument for more playoff teams.

6th Seed - Pittsburgh
Wins tie break over NY Jets and San Diego based on best win percentage in conference games. Division tie break was initially used to eliminate Miami (NY Jets wins tie break over Miami based on best win percentage in division games). Division tie break was initially used to eliminate Baltimore (Pittsburgh wins tie break over Baltimore based on best win percentage in division games).

Its even more unlikely than that. Even if Cards beat Seattle and SF, they'd still need need SF to lose to Atlanta OR Carolina to lose to Atlanta AND New Orleans. Of course, if Arizona manages to somehow beat Seattle and SF drops the ball against the Falcons, the Cardinals-49ers week 17 game would then be a playoff game.
