Pretty significant difference. He did what he was supposed to do because Green Bay loaded up the side they were running to. In that situation the qb is supposed to pass. Making it sound like he told the coaching staff to kiss his ass he's throwing is just not knowing what you're talking about.

It was an off target pass which was his fault for sure, but blame for that loss goes Kiffin/defense #1, Garrett/Callaghan #2, and Romo #3.

Incoming "Derr I hate thinking I just know he always throws 4th quarter int every game" even though he's thrown less than Peyton, Flacco, and Roethlisberger and the same amount as Brady and Russell Wilson.

I don't doubt your facts, but it justseemsRomo fucks it up at key moments, key games, etc. more often.

More than that, it's that when he DOES fuck up it always seems to warrant 30 paragraphs worth of excuses and reasons it's not his fault. Horrible ill-advised pick in his own territory to seal the loss? He's only 3rd in line for the blame!!!

If Baltimore wins out you guys take the division, and Miami(if they win out also) would take the 6th seed because they own the tie-breaker over the Bengals. Winning out is probably your best chance; I don't want to consider them wins, but Miami gets to play @Bills and then hosts the Jets...
Yeah like I said before, Miami has to win out to make the playoffs. And honestly if they can't win out, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs. If you can't beat the Bills and the Jets to ensure your playoff status then you simply don't deserve to be playing against the best teams in the AFC.

I'm oddly less nervous about the Bengals future than I should be. I feel the Bengals going 8-0 at home this year. The best, but most nerve-wracking scenario, would be for both Bengals and Ravens to win this week and then Bengals winning that all-important Week 17 game against the Ravens. Hello, #2 seed. I would be a mess while watching that game, but this is the scenario I'm expecting. I think both AFC North contenders will win this week.

On the other hand if you drop the next two you could very well not be in the playoffs at all.

The Dallas loss is a systemic failure across the board for the entire organization. No one on the damn team knows what they are doing anymore, and basic football acumen, like running the ball more than you throw the ball when the team you're playing is giving up 5-7 yards a run, is out the window. There is no excuse for this team anymore. None. If you try to justify anything from that game or any of the other losses this season, you deserve to be called a moron.

Because stupid people like Grimm say that so people who aren't Cowboy fans and don't pay as much attention just hear what the retards herpaderp. Any explanation more in depth than 1 play decided the whole game is too much for them to understand. Even something as simple as "the defense" is too difficult for them to grasp. Grimm actually thinks a defense giving up 5 td to a backup qb is in no way responsible for the loss.

The term "big game" also only applies when they lose. The big games this year were apparently just the Broncos in week 3 and the Packers on Sunday. He has more 4th quarter comebacks than any other qb since he's been a starter, but none of those wins were "big games". If the Cowboys and Eagles both win this week then this game was 100% meaningless.

The "big game" thing is nonsense. They're all big games. That narrative is annoying after the Steelers loss. "Bengals are too weak mentally to win big games like this". Yes, the team that has beaten a Rodgers-led Packers team, the Pats, Lions, Colts and Chargers can't win big games. Because none of those were big games, right? All playoff caliber teams (the Lions even played that game well and cleanly!).

In these situations, you're a loser until you've proven you can win. I don't have any problem with that mentality. Stafford, Romo and Dalton haven't done fuck all in the playoffs. They don't deserve much credit - despite moderate regular season success - until they get over that hump.

I never said anything vaguely like that here, and the things I yell at your mother when I'm fucking her are not for public consumption.
Really? I said they passed on that play because Packers were stacking 8 in the box and Dallas knew their defense was so shitty the Packers were guaranteed to score a touchdown if they got the ball back. You then replied

Or option C: let Romo audible out of the play and go FullRomo and throw a soulcrushing pick.

I love the mental gymnastics required to excuse that shit. "Well the Packers would have scored and the combined hot air from their cheering fanbase would have accelerated global warming and melted the icecaps and drowned millions in coastal cities. Really the Cowboys and Saint Romo saved the world by shitting it up to impressively! We should be praising them for their foresight!!"
I'm pretty sure that's more than "vaguely" calling BS on it being the defenses fault.

Bill Barnwell on Week 15 in the NFL - GrantlandThere's an article from Grantland saying basically the same thing as me. Grimm you might not want to click because he uses facts and figures and we know explanations that don't fit into your bumper-sticker-explanation-for-everything view of the world.

Applying the Romo defense logic to arguments doesn't really help you. That's really a stretch.

How about all those answers are right? He's right, you can't blame just one. You can certainly blame them all. And you should.

That's pretty much it. Passing those last couple of drives makes sense when the game becomes about whoever fails to score first loses and the Packers are going all out against the run. It doesn't explain why the hell they weren't running the rest of the half where long drives would have eaten up the clock and prevented the Packers from having time to score 5 tds. Romo also should have led Austin on the throw or could have probably scrambled for the first down as well. Staying with the run would have most likely been a pretty decent loss of yards and while that's better than an INT, you really only say that with hindsight.

So all facets of the Cowboys share the blame in this, but the defense absolutely gets the lion's share.

Could the Lions actually get a better coach than Wayne Fontes? Guess we'll be seeing this summer.

I'm surprised Buck/Aikman didn't come in higher.

But yeah, Dierdorf is the worst. I get a healthy dose of him now that I'm up in Buffalo.

The problem with Joe Buck is that he has an inexplicable ability to make the greatest moment in sports feel like you are watching grass grow.

Some of that shit seems really nitpicky. So Nessler says "partner" a lot, oh shit? I honestly can put up a lot of varying commentary until it gets so bad that we're talking Emmitt Smith level of incomprehensible or loud and obnoxious like Chris Berman.

A lot of people also dislike Collinsworth but I've always considered him the best on TV. If you really like in depth Xs and Os he's the guy to listen to. I guess he sounds like he's been boozing backstage sometimes, yeah.
