Candlestick isn't as bad as O.Co. O.Co is much easier to get to - has a BART stop, massive parking lot, right next to the interstate, multiple exits. But O.Co is shittier in about every other regard except for beer selection and "all-you-can-add" jalapenos on nachos.

I was at a preseason game at candlestick once between the 9ers and Raiders so of course there were tons of Oakland fans there. There was a family sitting in front of us and they were all in 9ers gear except for their 12 or 13 year old son who was weaing Oakland stuff. He wasn't being obnoxious but every time Oakland made a first down or something he would stand up and do a little dance move. Some drunk guy 5 or 6 rows down was offended by this and kept yelling at him to sit down and then finally at one point stood up, pointed at the kid and yelled "I'm going to kick your ass in front of your mother!". Everybody was like "what's this guy's problem" but then another guy that looked like a body builder just stood up, pointed at the drunk guy, and yelled "SIT DOWN". The guy dropped into his seat like his knees buckled and never said another word for the rest of the game. It was awesome.

With regard to the commercials, I'm telling you guys, DVR the game and skip the commercials. I started doing it out of necessity (because I usually have work to do on Sunday afternoon) but I wouldn't go back. It takes like 2 hours to watch the game and it's non-stop action. If you really want to go fast, if you hit the skip ahead 30 seconds button just as one play ends it usually puts you right at the snap of the next play so you even miss the penalty calls and replays. The team that fucks this up is the Patriots. They get up to the line faster than most teams. I suppose the Eagles might be that way now too but I haven't tried it with them. You can watch a game in under 90 minutes that way and see every play. I don't do that with 9ers games, but sometimes if it's a game where I don't care that much but I wanted to watch the game I will do it that way.

I would never DVR sports. I don't get the point. If I can't watch it live, I'll just check the score or gamecast it.

Yeah I am with you there. For me the excitement is in watching it live and not knowing what is going to happen next. I would never have the self control to not check the score and what happened in the game.

Glad I'm not the only one. My wife used to tell me to do that all the time to skip the commercials. I'm just like, "what's the point in watching it then?"

So you guys would rather miss the game than watch it recorded? I think you're all talking out of your ass about someting you've never tried. As long as you don't know the outcome it's just as exciting to watch on a tape delay.

I recorded a game once and it was one the Dolphins lost, never again.
the fuckin agony of me seeing you with that avatar

"Bitch was just askin' to get raped, did you see what that slut was wearin'?"

Same mind set.

I had a run-in with a dickhead Chiefs fan at the game I went to in October. He was running up and down the parking lot, getting in Texan fans faces and screaming "BOOO! BOOOO!". Seriously, right in their faces. He came jogging by our group, and said 'And I'm not even drunk, yet!', and I said, 'So, you're just naturally that stupid?'. I couldn't have timed it better, the blood drained from his face and he shagged ass.
yeah I hate fans like that. I was kinda hoping you ended the story with a "and this Ram Truck pulling into Lot B didn't see him as he took a nosedive into it's grill..."

I remember Raider fans( girls too ) throwing batteries at us lol. I think that's just Raider fans though.

I record them all the time. With Sunday ticket I can only watch one at a time anyway. Late games I'll generally watch live or mostly so by the end.

And that's why I'd never do it. I never find myself in a situation when a team I give a shit about would be playing and I wouldn't be paying attention to the score on my phone or something while it was live. Watching a game after you already know the outcome doesn't sound that great.

When we first relocated to Nor Cal we had to stay with my wife's parents for a while as we were searching for a house. My father-in-law would always watch the games this way and it drove me crazy knowing that I was a good 30 minutes behind what was actually going on in the game. So yes, I can say that I do not like watching it this way. Just like what Alex said. If it is a game I care about, I make sure I am available to watch it, or I will be paying attention on my phone.
