I think so. On the field she looked like a 40 year old man. That looks a bit more feminine.

Yeah yeah, I'm a bigot.

Should judo stop being played since Japan has historically dominated it and the international rules committee continuously changes the rules to ensure Japanese players remain on top?

Looking at the medals in the past Olympics, Japan dominates, but not outrageously and in 2012 they got just the one gold out of 14 categories (an outlier but also the most recent datapoint). How did they change the rules?

They got sick of American and Russian wrestler/judoka hybrids using their dominant strength and techniques for leg based takedowns (like the single leg, double leg, and fireman's carry) so leading up to the 2012 Olympics they changed the rules to outlaw attacks that begin below the waist. They have also increasingly shortened the amount of time allowed for newaza specifically to combat the rise of Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioners dominating Asian judokas on the ground. It is a bunch of bullshit and I'm glad it is at least partially backfiring.

This is ridiculous. Basketball is played worldwide and the rule set is virtually identical across all leagues. The only thing that made no sense was allowing professionals from other countries play while barring NBA players. Should judo stop being played since Japan has historically dominated it and the international rules committee continuously changes the rules to ensure Japanese players remain on top?

Judo isn't a team sport hah. Yeah there's a lot of good players internationally and it is definitely played all over the world. What I was getting at is that each country is going to have a couple of good to decent guys, while our olympic basketball teams tend to be consistently stacked with some of the best players in the world. Even when NBA players weren't officially allowed on the team, the US has only not gotten gold (mens) 4 times since it was added to the roster, and one of those was because the US didn't go to the summer olympics in 1980. Comparing it to Judo where Japan wins the most but it isn't a 80%+ gold medal rate though is a little bit off, imo. Since Judo was added there's been gold medalists in various weight ranges from a variety of countries. Japan has a good amount but definitely not overwhelming. The same can't be said about basketball. It's been consistently the US and -very- rarely any other country.

I think that cyclist chick just died..

There was a male cyclist from Iraq who hit a wall yesterday. He was going downhill on an S curve and wobbled and lost control. They estimated he was going 48mph. Not sure how accurate that estimate was.

Could it be because it works differently in international basketball like intentional fouls being called technical fouls?

Btw, the dutch cyclist is alive, concious and speaking. I assume that if she was paralyzed from the neck down they would also mention it...
