its even harder to know that the role you took will even get nominated for an Oscar. Marisa Tomei had no way of knowing when she played joe Pesci's GF (yeah right) in My Cousin Vinny that it would get her nominated for Best Supporting Actess let alone win her the award. years later when she did an actual oscar bait film like The Wrestler, the best she would get was a nomination

i don't have any real sympathy for old people bitching about getting shafted for being out of touch, but it would be hilarious if they file a lawsuit claiming age discrimination. Its reverse king of the hill, with the most suffering minority group winning
i don't think a lawsuit would have merit though, since the rules would be clear: do something oscar nomination worth every 10 years and you get to play.

i think its more racist when these black actors get nominated for playing stereotypical roles. playing a slave? sure, you can win. playing an obese , trash talking, KFC stealing, hoodrat who gets pregnant by her father? sure, take an oscar. playing a servant for a rich white person? yep, you win every time. playing an intelligent role that doesnt involve being oppressed by white people? get the fuck out of here with that shit!

They absolutely need to award Robert Downey Jr. a retroactive oscar for Tropic Thunder.

i do make them occasionally.
i missed a few stereotypes that get oscars for black people. a convict, an athlete (usually a fighter), entertainer, a gangster, a corrupt professional and of course a civil rights leader.
no doctors, no lawyers, no scientists, no astronauts, no (non crooked) politicians, no tech geniuses. you wont ever see a black man on mars harvesting potatoes he made from his own shit or getting buttraped by a bear in the old west and if you do, then they wouldnt be nominated for an award.
