Game gets better the longer you play it, I found the beginning really odd and doesn’t give great first impression. Having a lot of fun in spite of some technical issues.

Found an axe that lights on fire, two handed swords are great as are hammers. Just got absolutely shredded by a Templar guy with power lvl 160

I'm up to E Anglia which is power 55 recommended and I'm currently at 117 power. I 100% each zone at a time, have resources/money coming out my ears other than Raw materials. Have done all the raids for the cleared zones but you end up with thousands and thousands of supplies but can't build out settlement without the much needed raw materials. I don't see the point of exploration boxes having supplies when there is no way to farm the raw materials. Unless the dynamic changes will easily end up with 20,000+ excess supplies.

Yeah that’s the one thing I wonder about. I’m 10 hours played and now family is here so won’t be able to play much until Monday night but I was power level 26 lol. Now, I’m guessing the more storyline shit you do that increases faster than just skill ups.

The townsfolks quests from upgrading your town have been enjoyable. Recommend the hunter ones and the seer. Still having problems with the crusaders with tower shields. Can't seem to figure out how to break their defense outside of the flight of the Valkyries abilitiy that I can't recharge and they do nothing but spam red attacks so no parry opportunities. Tried kiting a bit to get some cheap hits in but they regen faster than I can chip.

I love that skill that slows time when you dodge an attack at the last second. So easy to swing around shield dudes and get some backstabs.

I need to put some points in the melee skill tree, or whatever you call the tree directly up from center. Still resisting the urge to google the skills.

Ok, I feel like I no lifed way worse than you guys on this. The game gets significantly easier once you have some of the main skills in the tree. Grit of course, back stab, all the time dilation shit. I use the dagger with nothing in my off hand (you are quicker with it empty) and can basically face roll anything Ive ran into lately. Dodge an attack, time slows down and I basically shank the shit out of them in their back. Rinse and repeat. (Ive reallocated a lot of my points into light attacks, and things that synergize with that tactic.) Yellow con Skirmishers, and those f'n bastard women that drop ghost bombs and hide in the bushes are the most annoying NPC's Ive encountered so far. They also are the only ones that counter my playstyle rather well.

*I dont like the skill tree as its setup. A lot of skills seem cool, but in reality are just idiotic. Maybe they have a place in the raids, or they are just "fun" for lower difficulties. Auto Loot on kill is probably the biggest time saver out of all of them, though. Just seems like a lot of fluff. The fog of war on them makes me think that someone originally had the plan to make changing your tree much, much harder than simply unlearning anything at the click of a button.

*The abilities are neat, but I for some reason.. just totally forget that I have them a lot of the time. Ive got four adrenaline bars, and use the axe throw when I do remember to. But even with 90% of them unlocked.. I just.. dont use them? Helped out with some 220 Combat Power Templar when I was like 90 CP. But havent used them since. Right now, I'm more of the opinion that collecting them is just a time waster - I may revisit this assumption when Im fighting things in the 300's, but as of right now.. they are just meh.

*Somewhere around when I got done with North America, I just totally gave up on collecting the non-icon gold dots. I dont have enough ingots to upgrade the gear that I need the materials most of the time anyways. There are just too many locations tied to the story line that keep you from collecting everything while exploring. I spent forever trying to figure out how to get into the cellar of this castle and just gave up. Then, later on - the zone story took me into that same castle and it unlocked that cellar. Doesnt really invalidate exploring, but a better implementation would make it where those gold dots dont show up until you can actually reach them. (Also, I f'n hateeeeeeeeeeeeee having to find explosive jars to break walls. They seem like they are everywhere in the world until you actually need one for a wall.)

Speaking of North America, I got the full gear set while I was there - but .. in hindsight, I just dont recommend it. Maybe itll have more relevance in a future DLC or further into the game, but right now they just seem like a huge waste of time. Same can be said for collecting all the tears in Asgard. I collected all of them and then looked up what they were for - only to find out that I just get a whopping 5 skill points for my trouble. Not.. worth.. the f'n.. effort. That should have been at least three times that many skill points, if not more. 30 tears for 15 is palatable, but 5? For that much time spent? Lord...

There are certain areas, one strangely enough in a forest? that dropped my frames down substantially. The first time, I just thought I had everything too high - so I neutered my settings to get through the area and.. this game looks like Absolute SHIT on medium or lower settings. Almost unplayable just because of how it looks. So I can definitely see where someone would refund the game based on that alone. But as far as some of the graphical bugs that were talked about earlier? Ive had very few. Ive experienced the bug where you're just waiting for the NPC's to respond and you cant do anything a few times, but they are few in number.

As far as the Audio issues? I just dont think Im an audiophile enough to notice them.

TL;DR - the game has a lot of time wasting components that dont sync up well with time spent vs reward. But so far at a CP of 180'ish / dealing with Aelfred - I feel like the games a solid addition to the franchise.

Have you found the marked for death ranged one? I didn't realize that was multi target until just a minute ago

Enjoying this a lot. Did not play Origins or Odyssey so I'm not yet fed up with the glut of side quests and collectibles. Using hammer main and dagger off-hand + crit armor and all the crit and stun passives, basically 1-shot stun+heavy finisher on everything and only using dagger offhand special to close or add distance quickly.

Note: Build the seer's house, you won't regret it.
Further note: You can't transmog but you can hide parts of your equipment, if you aren't already running around as a shirtless heathen you've now been notified.

Took me like 10 minutes to realize I had to look through the trees to see that Jotuns house in the big tree. Was so caught off guard and amazed at that. (Vague for spoilers)

So I just did the "Unwelcome" quest right as I landed in England --- cannot move. Appears to be a known bug. So that's super annoying. I actually remember now having a potential game-ruining bug back in Odyssey where you had to escort some guy and if you did it in the wrong order it fucked your whole play through.

So definitely some markdowns on these kind of bugs.

Fix on PC: reload a saved game right before the cutscene. Go into Options -> World Details -> set to "Ultra High". Let the game reload, and go through the cutscene but don't touch any buttons and let the whole thing play through...

It's satire, dude. It's mocking the disfigured change horseshit.
Internet tone didn’t come across well. My second point was directed at the disfigured face shit and the first sentence was a joke. Fucking retarded, and the fact that it was addressed almost immediately is crazy.

What’s extra shitty, too, is the fact that the language is completely normal and not in any way directly offensive or excessive. Obviously I don’t speak for everyone, but I think it’s a commonly shared avenue of emotion for people to relate to things in games and use them to channel real things into and decompress and release stress and tensions naturally. Meaning that if I had a burn or disfigurement in real life like that, I would probably read that and feel like ‘Fuck yeah! Someone kinda like me’ and use that character as a way to channel that shittiness it brings in real life as a way to get it out. I don’t have anything like that, but I know that has applied to me many times in the course of my time spent playing games and I would be pissed if something like that got changed/removed by blue hair culture (who are likely not even affected in any tangible way). Bending and breaking to the will of cancel culture has become easier than dealing with whatever the fallout could POTENTIALLY even be, which is as bad as anything really. They never know when it’s worth it anymore to say fuck off (the right answer is every time with few exceptions) and unless they’re a studio known for having an iron stance and not giving a shit about what the Twitter dipshits say then they eat shit and bear it every fucking time. It’s so ridiculous dude.

Got the Spear just now and decided to try it out. It feels kinda OP compared to the other weapons I used.
