Im blown away by John Elway's 56.9 career completion %

It almost seems like a joke, but its not.

Remember that you could REALLY rough up the passer and receivers back then. There were a lot of early throws and a lot of alligator arms. Patriots won a Super Bowl doing just this.

Again, assuming you do that and you do get a butt load of picks (which also mean you have to pay 1st round and 2nd round slot, thus more money hitting the cap) and a possible player in return, there is not enough money under the cap for them to maneuver.

Dont get me wrong, I still hate the Texans until Easterby is fired. Also I still haven't picked a team going forward until that day comes. Kinda leaning Saints or Packers..... idk.

They could do a deal with more 1sts over a 2nd this year, and less possible players in return, as well. Frankly if you're trading Watson, it's full rebuild until you get another decent QB (almost certainly through the draft with the extra draft capital they would be getting)...and even with semi high pick, nobody outside of Lawrence is a sure thing this year. I don't think it makes sense to get starting players in return as part of the deal. If you are making the trade, you're conceding that you aren't competing for a few years and need to go full rebuild.

If they are actually already $10M under the cap, they can make moves to maneuver enough to get a deal done if they want to. But it would basically be full on fire sale this year going cheap to acquire as many 1sts as possible next 3-4 years.

Eras are different. People like to hype up some QB seasons recently, but to break the single season yardage and TD records by the same percentage Marino did in 84 someone would need 5799 yards and 73 TDs.

This is true, although I was a little surprised that Rodgers still had the 3rd best QB rating of all time, with only Mahomes (not really surprising) and Watson (he was surprising to me) ahead of him.

Thus again 0 incentive to trade away the best QB you have ever had with this franchise.

Comparing Elway to Watson is retarded though. Completely different game. The point is solid that Watson is a 1st ballot pick.

Your earlier point about Brady dominating Pitt and realistically dominating any AFC division on the way to his Super Bowls is also on point. I always hated watching Brady raw dog Pitt as Tomlin seemed lost every single time.

No shit Sherlock thanks for the brilliant analysis. The point was the HoF committee *does* compare across generations. They even make retarded sports writer arguments in the actual HoF meetings such as this gem from Peter King's article:

"One pro-Owens supporter actually said in the year he was voted in that he felt one of T.O.’s HOF credentials was his colorful style of play, which translated well on the Madden video game, which he attributed to hooking him and others of his generation on the NFL."

I didn't mean to rustle with obvious analysis. So below, this wasn't you comparing the two? I know the HoF committee does it but was that you or were you just quoting a retard and forgot the quotes? I acknowledged your points as good, just related the brilliant analysis that only retards compare between generations. I don't know your issue....

Deshaun Watson is only 25. He has played a little less than three and a half seasons.

14.5k passing yards in 53 starts. In 68 starts (an entire extra season) John Elway had 14,835 yards
67.8% completion rate (John Elway entered the HoF with a mighty 56.9%)
104-36 td-int ratio (almost 3 to 1) (Elway entered with 300 td to 226 int)
Adding in rushing stats its another 17 tds and 1,677 rushing yards (insane)
104.5 passer rating (Montana had a 92.3 rating, Steve Young 96.8 for comparison)

Except for the fact that that quarterback doesn't want to play for your team and may actually refuse to do so. Doesn't matter how good he is if he doesn't play.

Advantage: Wentz doesn't run like a crippled giraffe.
Disadvantage: It's fucking funny to watch Rivers run.

1) Not my team for the time being.

2) Would you walk away from $40m by not showing up? Serious question.

I'm a fan of Baker's celebration running style. You march yourself to that end zone, Baker!

That fucking game. One of my all time personal fave games. Ridiculous game.

Since we keep mentioning the Steelers

I think this needs to be a constant point of focus here. We should not waver. We should not lose our intensity on this.

No matter what team you root for, I think everyone should keep an eye on the Steelers next season. Especially when I think about what next season will mean to the fans. Pittsburgh fans are special people, and I have a feeling next season is going to be special.

It will be the feel-good story of the Fall.

When you are as young as him and have potential to make a ton of money, possibly. If he sticks to his convictions and really doesn't want to be there, he will look at the long term and take the $40M hit. Tough to say I would do it, because that is a fuckload of money.

How much money did Leveon Bell walk away from for no reason at all beyond being a fucking retard?
