I was talking about if it goes sideways and he sucks. 26M for a good starting QB is fine. 26M for a dumpster fire is not.

I mean, you're going to be paying at least that much for any dart throw at a decent QB if you think you can contend this year (which they can with a decent one). That's why I was comparing him to those guys. His cap hit for the Colts is only like $22M according to sportstrac

Sure. He's more likely to be hot trash than most of the other potential QBs though. He's also costing less draft capital and has a pretty high top end so it's a calculated risk that could really pay off. That doesn't make it not a fairly substantial risk though.

I don't think it's that big of a risk. If he bombs, they probably will make sure he doesn't play enough snaps to hit that 75% number so it's just a 2nd next year. 2nd next year is roughly equal to a 3rd this year...two 3rds isn't nothing, but it's not anything crazy either. The money their paying isn't much at all compared to other starters, and they have zero dead cap left on the deal. Figure even someone like Fitz could command $20M this year to start somewhere.

Honestly, I think that's an overpay for the Colts. That dude looked like absolute shit for the better part of 3 years. Add in the fact that apparently he sucks in the locker room and can't take hard coaching? No thanks.

It's just weird it was reported to be two 2nd's, plus a 3rd or 4th in the future, to a 3rd this year, and a conditional 2nd or 1st next year. Also all the talk of the Bears offering a 1st plus more seems like smoke now, too.

I mean I might turn into a cancerous diva if my club drafted a QB second round too. and as somebody else pointed out Frank Reich was Philly's OC in 2017, so he's worked with Wentz before.

Crazy: "No 1st round QBs from 2009-2016, are still with their original teams"

Eagles were pushing out lies to try and pump up his value.

Tom brady has prevented new nfl dynasties in THREE different decades. His '01 ring stopped the 'greatest show on turf', 2014 prevented a Seahawks repeat, and 2020 stopped a Chiefs repeat...

That's actually pretty crazy, although I'm not sure 2 titles, even when back to back, quite qualify for dynasty. You do 3 in 4, or the sustained dominance the Pats did for basically 20 years...those are dynasties.

Eagles have been the worst at repeatedly picking the wrong WRs and QBs in the early rounds, and they're set up to do it again (and again). They basically picked Wentz over Pederson, and he ended up gone too.
Fire Howie.

Honestly I think any of the top 3 WR prospects should do well this time around. If they go that route should be okay. But man picking Raegor one pick before Justin Jefferson hurts

Hell, not even new ones. He single handedly wrecked the Steelers chances of being the leader in SB trophies and having a mini run of our own in the early 2000s.

Beat us in the AFC CCG in '01, '04, and 2016. 12-3 in his career vs the Steelers.

The later on in the offseason it gets the more unlikely a trade becomes. Although in some situations the closer deadline puts pressure on teams, but the Texans have absolutely zero reason to move on from Watson besides him being a total dick the entire time hes there. He still has to play. Although they blew it up so bad already they mine as well just trade him and get something for him, as you know they arent winning this year or next.

Whats weird to me is the reports of the Broncos and Panthers wanting to make a run at him IF he becomes available. Panthers are rumored to be ready to offer 3 firsts + McCaffrey as a start. People say Watson won't sit out but he certainly was aware of that going in to this so I don't think it is outside the realm of it happening.

That’s nuts, Mcaffery must be worth a 1st on his own.

might even be 2 if you consider the amount of jerseys he would sell in a big market...
