You do understand that the lower + number, means its more of the favorite, right?

Example +250 (shorter odds) means you pay $100 to win $250. +750 (longer odds) means you pay $100 to win $750.

If the Texans were a minus number (example -250) they would be the extreme heavy favorite when compared to the rest of that field.

5:2 odds are pretty soft for a favorite though. Compare that to the Wilson numbers. None of that shit matters though. Even if he ends up staying in Houston it doesn't change the fact that they could trade him if they wanted to.

I've never gambled or bet anything in my life. I never knew this. So Russell Wilson isn't going anywhere according to the book makers.

betting odds aren't really a prediction so much as it's a number that should get roughly equal amounts of betting on both sides. sportsbooks get a fee for taking bets so in the long term they just want both sides of every bet to get action.

This... the odds/betting lines are set so the casino makes money no matter the outcome of whatever is being bet on. Thats it... I wish more people understood this

It is also a tool to use to gauge what the betting public feels about X line and depending on how the lines moves is a decent indicator. Its not dead on balls accurate, but its an interesting gauge.

Also if that only gets 3 bags of balls, NFL free agents this year going to be crying a lot of tears. Only 13 teams are in a better cap situation currently than the Texans. 18 are in worse situations. Nobody getting paid this off-season I guess.
