Yeah, Dan Marino, Peyton Manning, John Elway, etc. were never high draft picks that landed on teams that were absolute garbage..

Generational talent like that doesn't really give a fuck how shitty the team was before they got there. By the nature of their skill, they inevitably make the team better.
Marino was taken pick 27 and had 5 QBs taken ahead of him.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest Mahomes wouldn't have been "shit" in Chicago. Probably not winning a Super Bowl Year 3, but Bears probably better team than they were with Mitch and we'd all have been drafting Allen Robinson a lot higher in fantasy than we already were.

Probably still the funniest thing to me is the Packers signed Aaron Jones, but still drafted a QB and RB with their 1st and 2nd round picks last year (and they traded up in the 1st for the QB).

Shanahan and Lynch doing a press conference now. Saying they are 100% committed to Jimmy G for this year, and even with a rookie QB he gives them the best chance to win this year. I mean it is fair to point out a rookie has never started, much less won, a Super Bowl. So the thinking totally makes sense. They are also not hiding at all that they are drafting a QB.

We will see if any of that changes depending on who they take and if someone decides to try and make them an offer for Jimmy.

“Like a lot of people, Deshaun regularly deletes past Instagram messages,” Hardin said. “That said, he has not deleted any messages since March 15th, the day before the first lawsuit was filed. We categorically deny that he has reached out directly to his accusers in an attempt to settle these cases.”

He better be right about that as I have zero doubt if any were they will be dug up

He did know the lawsuits were coming for a month or so before they were filed so maybe he deleted during that time.

By definition, we cannot have generational talent in every draft class.

We can disagree about shitcago but I notice you didn't say the same about the browns who I believe had the #1 pick that year.

Yeah cause Chicago was the first team to take a QB? I don't think he would have been "shit" on the Browns either, just not as good as going to Andy Reid with Hill and Kelce, obviously. He was going to elevate whoever he went to. Remember that stacked ass KC team had Hunt the year before with Kelce and Hill and Smith's career year of 26 TD's was with that group...then Mahomes puts up 50 with the same guys (and lost Hunt part way through the season, even).

I don't think he wins a Super Bowl in either Chicago or Cleveland, but those teams would have been a lot better than they were, almost assuredly.

Also sorry, when I say year before, I should just say the year he was drafted b/c he sat that year, and they drafted Hunt that same year. Crazy rookie season Hunt had, Andy Reid and RB's, man. Kind of surprised CEH didn't do more for them last year.

But we're imagining everyone knows how great mahomes is going to be on draft day and surely cleveland would have taken him if they knew.

Doesn't matter. We disagree too much on how far a shitty team can drag down a good player. My point is that the people being tossed out as early pick busts probably did have more potential than the guys picked later. The difference between Smith (the 2nd RB taken in 1990) and Blair Thomas (the first) was that thomas had to play for the fucking jets. If he'd been able to run behind emmit's O-line he probably would have been better than smith. That line of reasoning doesn't hold for Alex Smith vs Aaron Rodgers. Smith was probably destined to be an actual bust. I'm just saying that most of the time when a highly ranked player is a bust it's because he landed on a shit tier team. Sure, generational talent can lift a shitty team like Elway did. But those don't come around very often.

By shitty team I don't just mean bad players around them. I mean bad coaching and bad management that will never get good players or use that player in the right ways. That's why shitty teams stay shitty for so long.

Whoever the 49'ers get should make for a good case study to compare to who Jacksonville/Jets get and how they fair. 1 team with a history of success, 2 teams with shit history and blow up every few years

49ers fans,

What does your team need for your #2nd pick.

I am doing a mock draft with 32 others and i was assigned 49ers.
FYI I picked FIELDS #3 as 1 and 2 when as predicted.

Thinking Secondary BPA.

Any advice 49er pals?

Dude was right, he will never play for the Texans again.
Only thing he was wrong about was the assumption he would be playing for one of the other 31.

He will never play in the NFL again

Imagine if all of this shit came out right after some team traded 3 first round picks and 2 star players for him like they were thinking would happen. At least Houston was already in the toilet.

It’s gonna be funny of some of those ladies have messages from him trying to “fix this” with his money.

If he ends up on the commissioners exempt list? That could last until all of these lawsuits are resolved. Plus? I haven’t seen anything about criminal investigations. Some massage therapist may go that route to really bury him.

Watson stayed on his back for the entire session. While massaging his abdomen, Mary says she noticed “different fluids on his stomach.” She remembers questioning whether it was really pre-ejaculate, telling herself, This can’t be what I think it is. In the final five to 10 minutes of the session, Mary says Watson began thrusting his pelvis in the air again, this time much faster. “At that point, I recognized it for what it was,” Mary says. She says she told him he needed to “calm down.”

That story sounds too weird to be made up.

Also, fuck SI.com. I swear every website these days is like those sites that would open 100 popups back in 2001 with the dancing punch the monkey ads and shit but instead of some scummy fake porno site with ads for penis enlargers it's one of the biggest names in sports journalism and the ads are for major corporations.

I don't think we actually disagree on it too much, it absolutely hurts guys that go early to bad teams. It's not like I said Mahomes on the Browns meant they would have been in the AFC title game by Year 3. And I mainly was just responding to you claiming I left out the Browns on purpose for whatever reason. I just named the Bears since they also traded up for a QB at #2(although it was one of those weird trade up 1 spot deals), they just happened to pick the absolute wrong one when Mahomes and Watson both went 8 and 10 picks later.

Lets not forget that the Browns took Mayfield with the #1 pick in the draft the very next year, and he's helped turn them around. They've definitely had to make some other smart moves in the process, but he's been a big part of their success with his efficient play (once they got over the terrible choice of Kitchens as their head coach).
