Waddle is better than Chase anyways.I didn't understand why I was getting so much pushback over what was a very common opinion and then I realized I wasn't exactly being clear.
On April 29th, 2021, picking Jamarr Chase over Penei Sewell was a terrible decision.
Chase has had arguably the greatest rookie WR year ever. Only Randy Moss could be considered better. Entirely possible Chase ends up a generational type of player and you literally said "picking Chase was a terrible decision".
You can't say there was no guarantee he'd be worth it while also acting like an OL pick would be a guarantee. You're using the same logic for picking an OL as you are for not picking a WR.
Could make a case for Justin Jefferson up there with great rookie seasons at WR. Aside from TD's his numbers last year and Chase's this year are eerily similar.
Jefferson 2020: 88 catches, 125 targets, 1400 yards, 7 TD
Chase 2021: 81 catches, 128 targets, 1455 yards, 13 TD
TD's do tend to fluctuate a little year to year, and Chase had 17 games versus 16. Jefferson upped his TD total to 10 this year with a worse QB in Cousins v. Burrow.
I will say that it might not have been the exact same logic picking an OL as WR in this case. NFL coach calls Penei Sewell the one 'surefire Hall of Famer' in 2021 draft class
Chase only played two snaps in Game 17 and that was so he could beat Chad Johnson's single season yardage record. Two catches for 26 yards and then they pulled him.
Frankly Jefferson wasn't used as much the first couple weeks last season, either. Only 3 targets in each of first two weeks and he wasn't even starting at that point. Averaged 8.5 targets a game the rest of the way.
Sounds like he wasn't good enough to compete to me!
Haven't you been paying attention? Race is governed by the one drop rule these days.Something is fishy. How big of a scandal would it be for the race people on both sides if it is revealed his father actually isnt black but like a quarter black or something and looked like a white dude?
I mean, that's the way it was historically too. Just different groups interested in applying it.Haven't you been paying attention? Race is governed by the one drop rule these days.
