Tua has to perform this year for the Dolphins to decide on his 5th year option right? Whats the floor for them not to 5th year him? Having a losing season?

Tua had multiple injuries in college, two of which led to surgery, and he's had a jammed thumb and cracked ribs so far in the pros. Dolphins are probably just assuming he's incapable of playing a complete season and want a solid backup, although why they'd pick an injury prone backup for their injury prone starter is anyone's guess.

It's a new offensive system for him. I would say he would have to show improvement and understanding of the system as the season progresses. If the playbook isn't expanding as the season goes on, he probably isn't the guy (statistically this would look like the first half of the season Miami is on fire, but as the weather gets colder and teams have more film on them, they will stagnate in the back half of the season).

As a Dolphins fan I am pretty hyped; this could be the most exciting 8 or 9 win Miami Dolphins team we've seen in at least 2 decades!

That Hill trade and extension is kind of gross. I can sort of understand the picks being traded, but holy shit that extension is wild as fuck. Not sure Armestad and Williams are enough to fix the historically inept Oline so not sure a deep threat is what they really needed especially since they had just drafted Waddle last season.
He's much more than a deep threat. He can get separation on every level. But yeah, $30 million a year is a shit load and can't blame the Chiefs for moving on.

Not all that worried about Wagner anymore. He's nowhere near where he used to be at LB. Obviously he's still a good player, but he fell off bigly.
I see him in the same vein as Von Miller for the Rams this year. He isn't the game wrecker he once was, but is probably an upgrade from what they have, and fits in nicely with an already solid defense.

Yep. First time Miami has had two top WR options in 30+ years. The cost is ridiculous but so is the AFC this year.

It would be funny to have this blow up in the Brown's faces and them try to keep Baker for the season but him be like "Nahh fuck you Im out"

Jacoby Brisett is probably his equal anyway. So if he isn't going to play they'd just save the 15 mil.

Why would he help them out when they kicked him to the curb and he has no contract for next year. Smarter to just hold out and wait to be traded.

They signed Brissett to back up Watson so I can't imagine Baker being on the team come time to play. To the point they will straight up cut him if they can't find a place to trade him

If you hold out you miss your game check... so he wouldn't get paid. If he really wanted to screw them he would just show up, underperform, and bench ride until they cut him.

Baker has 1.4% better completion percent, but his TD:Int is worse than Brisetts. Not exactly like Indy was a powerhouse offense while he was there, so can't really claim he had more weapons around him. Baker has always and will always be trash. Poor mans Johnny Football.
