I'd really encourage you to watch the all 22 film then. Kyle's pass protection schemes were fucking atrocious against a DC that obviously loves the blitz. And the fact that Purdy said after the game that he "didn't expect them to play so much man-to-man" shows a complete lack of preparation. Chiefs were top 10 in man-to-man usage and I think #2 in man-to-man EPA.Don't know if I can say San Fran's offense shit the bed in the Super Bowl. They scored more points than Miami and Baltimore did combined against KC's D.
We’re just getting started

I got to high five McKinnon and did the Wayne’s World “we’re not worthy” to Brett Veach and he pointed at my buddy and I and showed us his 3 rings and did the Wayne’s world back.
That was my highlight
That is how all American sports work.the banner says "world champions" when the league is literally called National Football League and all teams reside within a single country

Even though he may not have made a case for Super Bowl MVP, the Chiefs' defense was notably impressed by Purdy's ability to dissect their zone defense. According to reports, Spagnuolo and his coaching staff were "blown away" by his performance, with one Chiefs coach comparing Purdy to the likes of Drew Brees.
However, as the game progressed, Spagnuolo realized that sticking to zone coverage was no longer effective in containing Purdy and the 49ers' receivers. He made the crucial decision to switch to man coverage, acknowledging the skill of the opposing wideouts and Purdy's astute recognition of their defensive formations.
"The zones, I just think their wideouts and quarterback are so good at their timing routes, and Brock Purdy is really good," Spagnuolo explained. "He knew when we were in certain things, and he found seams."
Interestingly, Purdy's performance in the Super Bowl differed from his regular season play. Throughout the season, he had the highest yards per attempt against man coverage in the entire NFL, throwing 13 touchdowns with only one interception. However, when facing the Chiefs, Spagnuolo's change-up proved effective.
McDoofus used to pull this stunt all the time when he was with GB. Toss the D-Coord under the bus to save his own ass when his offense shit the bed in a big game, which it looks like he did again in Dallas this year. The SF Defense was banged to hell and back and lost their best cover guy mid game, but still held KC back. Meanwhile their offense has had issues the entire playoffs due to slow starts that either their defense or sheer luck bailed them out of. Not using CMC more later in the game was really what killed them almost as much as the special teams fuckup. Special Teams coordinator and conditioning coach should be the first people handed pink slips.Actually I think Kirun? nailed it. They wanted a scapegoat to protect the golden boy's image.
The Superbowl was simply the last straw. There was plenty of reason to fire him before that game, but winning covers a multitude of ailments. So you are saying Wilks would of still gotten fired if they had won the game?
I think that is an impossible question to answer, but the possibility would be there. I think Kaines is accurate. So you are saying Wilks would of still gotten fired if they had won the game?
Smart move.. The Rams even brought him back in for an interview and said no thanks.![]()
Some think Brandon Staley will land in San Francisco as next defensive coordinator
Staley arguably is the best of a lean pool of currently available candidates.www.nbcsports.com
Where are you seeing this stat? I see them as #3 in rushing yards allowed this year, #2 last year. The run defense went from #2 last year to #26 this year.
Steve Wilks wasn't the "right fit", so let's bring in a guy who runs a 3-4. LMAO.![]()

I don't know how he got 26th, but just pure yards can be misleading. Like you said, 3 vs 2 last year, but YPC went from 3.4 to 4.1. That's 11th and a bit of a jump. It's all connected, though. Their improved offense probably helped their defense stay off the field a little more.Where are you seeing this stat? I see them as #3 in rushing yards allowed this year, #2 last year.
Meanwhile, the passing defense went from #19 yds/allowed this year to #21 last year.
Essentially, the defense was almost completely static compared to last year.
Sure, their EPA and YPC got worse in the run game, I agree. But they also got way better in the passing game when you consider how much teams were throwing on them because they were behind. Yet, they still improved over last year.I don't know how he got 26th, but just pure yards can be misleading. Like you said, 3 vs 2 last year, but YPC went from 3.4 to 4.1. I don't know obviously, but I suspect he had pretty much made the decision before the Super Bowl. It would have really been a kick in the nuts for Wilks if they won and he got fired. So you are saying Wilks would of still gotten fired if they had won the game?

White guy. No free picks if he gets poached. Then again, after how things went for him on the Chargers, he's probably never getting another head coaching job so he might actually be around for a while.Smart move.. The Rams even brought him back in for an interview and said no thanks.
Yup. Here's the video if anyone cares.David Lombardi from the Athletic said it in a video I watched. Possible he was talking about EPA per play since they like the fancy stats over there.
