Probably shouldn't have given up on Lance so quickly
If Moody doesn't miss that first FG, we don't need to score a TD to win. Also, go look at how many 3rd and longs the Vikings converted.

I'm not saying Brock is the "solution", but he certainly isn't the "problem" either. This is top to bottom the best roster in the NFL. At what point do we start looking at the coach for constantly underachieving when Lynch is surrounding him with all kinds of talent?

It's official: 49ers were exposed as giant pussies and faggots.

Cooper Rush still undefeated in big games

There is no doubt the defense was a huge letdown tonight. I mean Ward should have had that int as well, but it goes for a TD instead.

But Purdy threw 2 *terrible* interceptions tonight. Like not even close to anyone on his team.

Hard to say the Niners will lose three straight, but I certainly feel better about the Bengals chances on Sunday. Bengals defense is certainly better than the Vikings and Burrow is finally fully healthy.

That was a quick turn on Purdy. Come on, man. Yeah, had some bad plays, but by almost any possible metric, he's been doing pretty good in the first 16 games of his career. Trey Lance had exactly one good season of football in his entire college (DII) and NFL career and has been seriously injured three or four times.

Mahomes has thrown interceptions this year where no one was there or was a total hope and a prayer with multiple defenders right on top of a receiver. Sometimes the play breaks down, the receiver goes the wrong way, or the QB just plain fucks up.

It's a little too early to be longing for Trey Lance or Jimmy G.

The first INT to Jennings looked like Jennings flattened the route out instead of continuing to run, but Purdy said he got pushed into the defender and Jennings was in the right spot, he just missed him because he couldn't see after getting pushed. He tried to anticipate where Jennings would be and made a bad decision/throw.

The 2nd one was him just trying to make a play with 35 seconds left. He should've ran it instead of throwing a bad ball and even admitted so after the game. Purdy was completing like 85% of his passes going into the 4th quarter. I thought Purdy's only really awful play besides the Jennings INT, was when he was sacked and tried to just chuck the ball away(ruled a fumble, but he was down) - that's stupid football that leads to bad outcomes.

Defense gave up over 450 yards, allowed the Vikings to convert on 8/13 3rd downs, and gave up over 370 passing yards to Kirk Fucking Cousins. Defense is a problem for this team, especially the DLine. The only reason we still look decent on D is because we have the best LBs in the NFL.

Wilks plays soft-zone almost the entire night and when the game situation called for it most, with the Vikings on their own 40yd line with like 20 seconds left before halftime, you dial up a 6 man blitz with no safety help? Like wtf are you even doing? What are you even trying to accomplish there? I get that the Vikings turn the ball over a lot and maybe you're hoping for the INT, but what does the INT even get you in that situation?

Fucking garbage playcall by Wilks that was made worse by Mooney choosing to be selfish instead of just knocking the ball the fuck down - know the situation instead of wanting to go take selfies in the end zone.

That's exactly what I'm saying. HUGE faggots. Imagine if you lost to this team 42-10? Fucking YIKES! What an embarrassment that'd be.

Exactly. Glass Jimmy isn't even that good when he's healthy and that's usually about half a season on good years. At least mgt was smart enough to move on from terrible mistakes unlike the Bears. Fields has averaged about 50% completions in 4 of 5 games and got completely outplayed by some undrafted scrub from WV in his first game. Someone needs to make a color by picture wristband for Russell Wilson, Fields, and a couple other QBs who just weren't given enough supporting talent to play QB gud. At least you didn't pay 230 million for PJ Walker to outplay the starting QB....LMAO. Still love that one.

Don't be a prisoner of the moment. Remember last year when Tom Brady threw 3 picks against the 49ers? Every QB has a bad game now and then. I'm more concerned about the defense giving up 6 yards per carry in the first half against a bad rushing team and then making Kirk Cousins look like Tom Brady and WTF happened to our pass rush? Hargrave was supposed to open things up for Nick Bosa. Through 7 games they have less sacks combined than Bosa had by himself last season.

EDIT: BTW, Brock Purdy just last night caught up with Trey Lance for career INTs.

Kick Fucking Cousins is the 4th highest rated QB in the NFL currently #2 in passing yards, with a team that has a 3-4 record because they missed the memo to watch The Program.

Vikes had a lot of luck on their side last night. That strip sprint from Addison, and the ability to finally hold on to the ball and convert those 3rd's with players stepping up out of the depth charts saved the day. Purdy is a good fucking QB. I would expect to see great things from him. This was the trap game of all traps for the 49ers - and without Deebo, our D was able to mitigate Kittle and McCaffrey for the first 40 minutes of the game until they started to turn it up. But you were playing a team in the Vikes that beat themselves the first 3 games of the season. Should easily be a 5-2 maybe even 6-1 team at the moment had they remembered basics of holding on to the damn ball.

Either way, any given Monday night and I would bet dollars to donuts the niners are in the NFC championship game at the least.

Cousins can always get yards (and I personally think he's underrated by most people). His problem has always been turnovers at the worst time and sacks. That they got zero sacks on him is more damning for the 49ers than the yardage.

The Lance joke was absolutely tongue in cheek, apologies if you guys thought I was serious.

I still think Purdy had a less than stellar game, and at the same time still think he will do well in the long run. But yes, the biggest problem is the defense. The Vikings punted one time that game, and converted 8/13 first downs. There is zero excuse for that. I am very worried about the DLine cause they aren't doing shit, and are supposed to be the strength of the team. We just paid Bosa the most non-qb money to any player, and he has not been taking over games like he should. I mean look at what Myles Garett did the other day. That is what I expect Bosa to do, especially when they need it.

That said, 17 points still just isn't good. 49ers have some shit to get figured out.

One thing I did see last night with Purdy that I really hadn't seen from him so far was panic on more than a few plays. Definitely don't want to be seeing more of that down the line.

To piggy-back off of this comment..

Shanahan and the 49ers are 0-29 when trailing by 5 or more points in the 4th quarter since he took over in 2017. They're literally the ONLY team in the NFL without a win in those circumstances.
