Were are 3rd stringers and Wentz really THAT bad then? Holy shit I thought Denver would do more than this.

That's why Mayo was fired so damn quickly. He knew he was gone and was hoping to go out on a good note while fucking them over at the same time. All these teams can say what they want but the reality is that a #1 pick is worth a shitload. He fucked them hard and Kraft responded. Vrabel isn't amazing but he's better than Mayo. I'm sad the Pats will start to get wins again.

Yeah, ESPECIALLY when you clearly have a guy at QB that you're going to build around for the next few years. Can easily trade back a couple, let all the QB needy teams drive talent down the board and just go BPA while picking up a couple extra 1sts in future years and probably an extra Day 2 pick this year.

Thing is with this year and QB needy teams is the QBs don't appear to be all that great.

Only one I see anyone doing any sort of move or stretch pick on is Shedeur and even that seems like a huge mistake other than his last name, perhaps not tho

Yep. They had the perfect situation, far better than what Miami had with Tunsil. While the draft is a crapshoot, it's pretty damn spot on in the early to mid 1st round except for QB. The dude just has to stay healthy and you're in a good position. Pats probably lost two 1st rounders from this. Huge loss. I would have paid an Asian masseuse to poison that dude if I was Kraft.

First round QBs are really, really weak this year but I'd go with Cam Ward if I had the option. Closest thing to the top QBs of the past few drafts and while he's not on par, he's still better than Shedeur Smallarms. He holds the ball far too long.

Doesn't matter. It an era where starters get _maybe_ two seasons before they're written off, a QB crop would have to be absolutely apocalyptic to not see at least 4 - 5 QBs taken in the first / very top of the second round.

And yes, the majority* of QB 3+s drafted in that frenzy will end up being problems, further locking their generally mediocre teams into years more of sub-par playing.

Which is why an NFL Draft Lottery may not be the worst idea in the world, when the bottom quarter of teams are so bad one single win can shift the value of the average player drafted so significantly.

*But the counter argument is not all, as 2018's QB 3 (Josh Allen) would currently prove - QB5 (Lamar) does not count as his team won the SB the year prior and didn't have obvious holes.

What a hit and huge play to start the game.

Honestly from that top view it kind of looked like he had possession. Probably just got ripped out in the pile

He seems like another Lonzo Ball situation, where his father will stick his nose in everything. And with Deion being much more popular and visible than Lavar, I doubt it is going to work out.

Raiders seem to have slammed the door shut on it but last couple days reports have been popping up that deion wanted the job, can only assume he was also trying to sell drafting Shedeur along with it.

Would be nice if _a_ wildcard team was competitive this weekend.

(Also a reminder that four wildcard teams came from divisions that got to beat up on the AFC South this year.)
