Shrug. Herbert has a worse playoff record than both Lawrence and Jones. I do not put any stock into regular season stats when you cannot perform in the playoffs. Herbert undoubtedly has a ton of talent. But he is just not a winner in my opinion. He reminds me of Carson Palmer, who would have great regular seasons but could never win a playoff game.
Jones was benched and released mid-season, he doesn't even belong in this conversation.

Lawrence...well his one win was the result of some of the most Chargerest Chargering that has ever Chargered. Lawrence threw FOUR picks that game and Herbert put up a respectable performance, the Chargers choked the game away with terrible playcalling, a missed 40 yard field goal, and an incredibly fucking stupid unsportsmanlike from Bosa. Genuinely not Herbert's fault. His game against the Texans on Saturday, yeah that was fucking terrible. A lot of it was due to the awful Chargers Oline and Harbaugh certainly didn't help with his coaching but Herbert put up a career worst day by a mile and there's no excuse for it.

I'm not saying you could stick him on the Chiefs and he'd be balling out at a Mahomes level but I guarantee if you put Mahomes on the Chargers his postseason record would be a bunch of misses and first round losses.

The only game that surprised me was the Chargers meltdown this weekend, which has to be one of the worst weekends of playoff football in living memory. Bad officiating was on display everywhere, not even talking about call bias. WTF was the dude who was so shitty that he got banned from calling playoff games two years ago even doing calling the Pack/Eagles game?

As for my team (GB), I knew we would lose that game, but holy fuck it was over on the first play. Ignore the blatant spearing that was not called and the clear recovery in the replay of the fumble by Nixon that was ignored in replay. That asshole should have NEVER ran it out of the end zone on the opening kickoff. Then he did it AGAIN and started the next drive on the 10y Line. And he finished things out with an utterly stupid personal foul that extended and Eagles drive that sealed the game. Nixon literally cost us that entire game single handedly, by literally spotting the Eagles 14 points straight up. If you told me we would have Barkley contained and Hurtz yardage stats without the score, I would have assumed we pulled off the upset. But Nixon basically handed them the entire game on the opening kickoff.

For the Eagles part, they played a tight game but were spearing dudes left and right, including the spear to the shoulder of our RG that took him out and let them rush Love to the face all damn day. I counted at least five clearly intentional incidents of spearing that went ignored by the refs. That aside, the eagles played a gritty game where their offense was actually not any better than ours and took advantage of Nixon's fuckery to full effect. Props to Barkley who had been shut out all day kneeling down at the end when he was shut down all game and no one would have begrudged him taking it to the house on that last drive.

And it was not just the Packers getting completely shit on by the refs. We got away with numerous lining up offsides and holds during the game. Eagles may have benefitted more from the refs, but they were all around shitty. The worst by far of the entire wildcard weekend, which is saying something. The fact that they put that fucking retard crew back on the field after they fucked up bad enough to get banned from playoffs a mere one year after that incident pretty much sums up this entire season of NFL officiating.

Props to the Eagles (dirty hits aside) for winning. I fully expected we would lose this game, but for a team that is in rebuilding mode the manner of this loss is pretty annoying. And all the injuries, of course. Lastly, there should be an NFL rule that states if you lose to the Bears you are automatically DQed from the playoffs, because ending the season losing to the Bears at home pretty much should have been grounds for GB to forfeit their spot entirely. I know we did well overall this season and met what I expected in terms of record and a wildcard spot, but this fading down the stretch trend is worrysome. We have a lot to ponder next off season, but at least the Rogers related cap damage is finally off the books.

Also, grats Commies. I will be rooting for the Lions, but if you somehow pull that off I will be cheering for you guys. Biggest feel good story of the season.

Mahomes is a better than average running QB that was lucky enough to have a descent TE and the favor of the NFL because they desperately want a black Jesus. Like all running QBs, he came back to earth after a major leg injury and is getting by on a top tier defense. This is literally what Reid did in Philly, but the difference now is he has the favor of the NFP and a division that would make the Patriots blush. Yes I know they had two wildcards, but both are the best of a shit crop of AFC teams that were beyond terrible all year. Exhibit A is KC itself which managed to get the one seed with a mere 22 points per game, mostly through a combination of Defense, shit tier opponents, and Ref glazing. They basically had the same Offensive output as the Steelers or Atlanta, but people are still lining up to suck Mahomes dick like he was Obama.

Go compare Ried's time in Philly to KC and tell me I am wrong. The best place to be if you want rings is the AFC in a weak division. Pats proved that unequivocally. The Steelers pioneered that strategy in the Bradshaw days.

Calling Mahomes a running quarterback is so fucking stupid. He's never had more than 400 yards in a single season and more pertinent than that they never call designed run plays for him, even as part of an RPO. They refuse to even do QB sneaks. He also never had a major leg injury. Missing two games (the most he's ever missed in a season) is not a major injury by any stretch of the imagination. He also was not a running QB in college either. Phazael Phazael is just making shit up and/or retarded

Also, acting like he's a mid-tier quarterback is some straight delusion.

I said he was above average. Like most runnign QBs who hit it big, he was amazing until he got a leg injury. He is a better than most,. My main point is that Reid litterally had the same situation in Philly, but is far more successful in KC because the NFL dick rides Mahomes and the division (and conference in general) is generally a cakewalk. And statistically, this is probably the worst season Mahomes has ever had, fwiw, but the division is also tougher than it has been in his entire career at KC. Its a lot easier to win rings when the refs love you and you can treat the regular season like the preseason (see Patriots and Steel curtain era Stealers) because you know you are getting spotted six wins.

Mahomes also came into the AFC at the right time, all the big dogs were either retired already (Peyton Manning) or on their way out of the conference/close to retirement (Rivers, Brady, Rapinburgers).

I don't think you have watched many games of his or understand his play at all. You just remember some famous scrambles in the playoffs. He is not a running quarterback like Jackson, Daniels, Murray, Wilson, or even Allen. Again, they never run a single designed run for Mahomes. He did not have a major leg injury. His running stats, for what they are, have been very consistent throughout the seasons, before or after whatever mild injury that you're thinking of. You are hallucinating that he was a running QB who had a bad leg injury. Even your memory of Reid's Philly years is off because McNabb was only a mobile/running QB in his first few years and then he strictly became a pocket passer. Mahomes' play hasn't changed.

His receivers have also been dog shit for the most part for the past two seasons. His receivers led the league in drops last year. You can look at Tom Brady and how much his performance changed when he had somebody like Randy Moss as the top option versus Deion Branch but that doesn't change how good Brady was. Yeah, the team matters.

He benefits from a division that isn't great but the Chiefs certainly play a part in that. Reid was winning the division (but not playoff games) with Alex Smith before Mahomes came along.

I'm not saying Mahomes last two years haven't been off his previous ones but it has nothing to do with the reasons you're claiming.

It's actually kind of comforting to know that no matter how wild a take I post in this thread it will always pale in comparison to some of the other posts.

Chiefs genuinely might be the worst 1 loss team in NFL history though (I'm not counting the game against Denver)

I would have to agree with that sentiment.

They've won 16 straight one score games (10 this year) which is really unprecedented luck. From what I was able to find the second highest number for that is 11 and then it goes down to single digits.

Not counting the Broncos loss they had the worst point differential for any one loss team.

This smells like bullshit to me. Unless MM really thought he had a three year deal lined up with Chicago, why wouldn't he just take a one or two year deal from Jerry?

Edit: Again, MM's wasn't fired, his contract ran out. While fired coaches continue to get their guaranteed salary from the fired team for the length of their contract, MM has no income as of today.
