I think Pete with a solid QB is a great move for the Raiders. They're just missing the QB and I don't know where the hell they'd get one, outside of luck in the draft.

I simply think the game has passed Carroll by. There is no doubt he builds a great culture and players love him, but I think his offensive philosophy is still stuck in the past. Maybe I am totally wrong and he comes in and turns that franchise around, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Yeah, agree. He will need to say fuckit and get coordinators that know the modern game and can relate to the new college player. Like getting Chip Kelly on your squad as an example.

I'm not sure Pete is the get the Raiders to the Superbowl guy, he's the change the culture and get 10 wins guy which the Raiders should be happy as shit to get.

He's a great motivator and knows defense. You don't need a world beating offense to win games with that formula.

Raiders aint winning 10 games in that division with no QB and their only offensive weapon is a tight end lol

Bad Packer Fan take on the Raiders HC:
Pete got hot with the Roidhawks because he came in with a strong knowledge of the upcoming draft class and had a monster squad on rookie contracts. He had this knowledge of course because he bailed out of USC over the scandals there to sign on with Seattle. He wont have the talent boost he did with his inside knowledge when he first signed on to the Hawks. And I can't say I see him as someone who was particularly innovative back then, aside from being the second best rules bender behind Darth Bill. They had a dominant SB where the Denver Mannings failed to show up and one blown when his college OC decided Lynch averaging 5 yards a carry meant it was time to call a pass over the middle in the red zone. And he had discipline problems all over the place, starting with Russel Wilson basically running off any talent at WR they may have had and ending in all the PE suspensions. A team with at least a functioning offense might have been a good spot for him, but that is not the Raiders. Giants or Cardinals might have been a good fit, though.

Actually think Pete could have been the guy to get the Cowboys over the hump.

Jerry is playing this masterfully. Not interviewing any of the top candidates that have already been hired and just biding his time to hire whatever is left.

I saw an article here in Dallas or might have been local radio.

They had it spot on, Jerry's intent was never to win. He like the popularity and the title most expensive franchise. Winning isn't more important. He has everything he wants, can't let coaches get in his way.

I'd say the opposite. In a year where Philly and the Ravens both had massive success with a running offense, Pete just needs a good QB, a great WR, and a great OL. He'd had two rings if he let his RB cook instead of Wilson. Making Geno look that good was exceptional coaching. His biggest problem is the Raiders are the Raiders, not his coaching style.

I dunno I have a bad feeling about this.

Usually Cowboys fans are delusional and think they're going to win a Superbowl every year.

Now Jerry goes and does something like this and all the fans are beside themselves.

It doesn't feel right!

So we're down to the Saints, who are probably waiting on Joe Brady to get knocked out (probably this weekend) to announce.

Since we're still talking about the Cowboys, yeah, Mike McCarthy clearly had better options than the Cowboys and should have rejected their supposed lowball offer! /lolz
