As an Eagles fan from Delco, this is true.

Interesting Super Bowl trivia.

Carson Wentz has been on the sidelines for both of the Eagles Super Bowl victories

The story absolutely was the Eagles defense. Hurts had a handful of impactful plays when needed, but it was all about the defense.

"Imagine being a Chiefs fan and getting to see pieces of the box score of this game in advance. The Chiefs did the best job any team has done all season against Saquon Barkley, who ran 25 times for 57 yards. The Eagles went 3-for-12 on third downs, failed to convert their only fourth down, turned the ball over in the red zone and averaged 5.1 yards per play -- fewer than the Chiefs. All of that sounds like the sort of game the Chiefs would expect to win given what they're capable of doing on offense."

Pretty decent article.

When it comes to points scored, they put up exactly what they were putting up all season. Chiefs averages 22.6 PPG in the regular season. People had questions about the Chiefs offense all year but they kept getting away with it. It caught up to them in the biggest game of the year.

Yes, but 14 of those were garbage time, and I think both were against backups?

It's also pretty amazing what the right hire and scheme can do. The Eagles were 30th in the league in PPG allowed last year. Hire Fangio and straight to #1.

For what it's worth, their D early last season while they were 10-1 was much better than it was the rest of the way when they lost 6 of the 7 remaining games (including playoffs). Don't know if injuries crept in or what, because they were 8th best scoring D in 2022.

The Steelers are the closest thing to a contender* that can use a QB (Vikings don't count, they'll have more QBs / money spent on QBs than they know what to do with), but I have a hard time imagining Aaron doing significantly better than Russ did.

*Which is the elephant in the room - will the mountain of veterans (Kirk, Aaron, Russ, etc.) cave and join a middling team for money in the Spring or wait and join a contender who loses their starting QB in October?
