Sorry, I have had very little motivation to paint. I have been waiting to hear if the remaining major GTs I am attending are adopting this abortion.

Here are some pics of the army I have been playing mostly this year:

I have been hitting top five with it pretty much every event and am taking a modified version of it to Quake City Rumble in two weeks.

I mean, sure, I love sci fi more than fantasy but I enjoy detailed miniatures in general.

I'm getting into painting 1/48 and 1/32 airplane models with my retired dad. Learning to airbrush and weather as I go along.

The addiction is strong with me in this regard. I love building them but holy hell can it be expensive

Yea I stay the fuck away from figure/person freehand. I can do pretty good banners and silhouette work but trying to get a tiny picture to look like a real painting is beyond my patience.

Yeah my freehand still needs a lot of work, I can do it pretty easily on banners because I can use a pencil and do outlines, the freehand stuff on models I see from some of the top painters blows my mind though and is way beyond my ability, its the biggest thing Im working on as a painter now, and each of my armies I try and improve 1 aspect.

Yeah free handing good stuff is hard. That dumb symbol on my converted Eternal Guard standard is the only one I have even tried to do in recent years. Even before I cut my thumb open, my hand was not steady enough to pull stuff like that off well. In this case, stenciling is very helpful a lot of times.

Khalan, is that 40k cannon representing a Hell Cannon? I am actually using that same model in my Chaos Dwarves as a Kadai.

Yes it is, Here is a close up shot, I wanted to do something a little different, so I have it being let around by a demonette (my army is slannesh themed if you couldnt tell) like a big puppy.

Army is Slaanesh themed, has purple Skullcrushers of Khorne. Urgh. Is that a 40k unit in Fantasy or did they jump the shark even more than I thought?

That's a fantasy army. Square bases. And my guess is, he is using the Juggs in place of Steeds, because they look cool.

I meant the giant thing at the back, Skullcrushers/Juggernaughts are in Fantasy too.

Its a slannesh army but my color scheme is Purple/Yellow and Skullcrushers of Khorne are a fantasy unit. Unfortunately they are too good not to include in a competitive army so I have a back story whereby they have a run in with Sigvald (A Slannesh Chaos Champion of unparalleled beauty) and after being defeated swear allegiance and carry his banner (Hence his portrait on their banner).

Plus I hate painting red.

The Maulerfiend Im using as a Chaos Dwarf hellcannon, A) because the current model is finecast (aka shit) also because I like cool models in my army, and its a great model that can double as a hellcannon.
