I replayed the last game about 4 times from start to finish which is incredable considering the fact that I have actually finished about 7 singleplayer games in total (of about 200 I bought over the years).
Last 8 years nothing really catches on.

I don't think it's possible to have a ranked top 5 of all time, the choices are subjective and endless. Rather, if there was a 'Hall of Fame', the first 5 inductees would probably have to be something like this:

FFVI could probably be swapped out with something else. If the list is based purely on industry/genre defining, you probably need to have Pong in there.
