I am fine with a lot of theories but there is no way Good King Bob was not certain Rhaegar was dead.

Interesting theory in the comments for this video.

In summation, Mance Rayder is Raegar Targaryan.

 I do find it fascinating where these theories come from, often with textual evidence. The series is deceptively complex
Wouldn't Ned have noticed if Raegar snuck into the festival when Robert was there? Or did they all fall for the "dude died on the trident was Raegar so the other one isn't him".

Not saying that particular theory isn't without flaws. Just that as more people delve in deeper to the books interesting stuff like this comes up, and I don't believe it is accidental. Whether a red herring or intentional hint, it is a mark of a great storyteller.

Most of the well thought-out fan theories are fun because they're fun, not because they seem likely. Whether they seem like theymightbe possible or because they're ridiculous but fun(MERMEN!) their entertainment value for me isn't really based on likelihood of being true.
