Saw an advanced screening with the wifey - she's signed up for some local program that gives people free tickets to advanced screenings to create a "movie theater" atmosphere for movie critics. The story is horrible. The acting is worse. The visuals and special effects were good though. There is no MNS "shocking" moment so to speak (at least I didn't perceive one). I'd give it 1.5 of out 5 stars. Save your money & your Netflix rental when it comes out IMO.
Pretty much this. No twists, good visuals, bad acting (for the most part), dumb story. Felt like there might have been a good movie here, but it just never came to be.

PERMISSION DENIED! SIT DOWN!

I refuse to see movies where his son is riding on his fathers coattails of success.. so every single movie the kid has been in. PASS.

Doesn't Smith have, like, four kids or some shit? Why is the little douche the one that gets all the publicity/films. I think he has an older kid who looks just like him; I'd figure that would be instant fame right there.

PS. Carlton killed in that video.

Well one of his daughters apparently was offered a role but she quote wanted to be a 12 year old and turned it down. I would say at least one child in that family probably has the right idea.

Dunno about you guys, but if I was the son of a famous father and I realized I had absolutely no acting talent, I'd definitely try and milk as much money out of the industry as I could before the offers stopped coming.

It was a Will Smith produced movie she turned down.

Am I the only person that really enjoyed The Village? I don't even care about the twist (which was dumb). I just think the cast and acting are both really good. Maybe I just like William Hurt too much.

yeah. that really brought that movie down. The air of mystery and acting prior to that was pretty good.

I wouldn't give signs that much credit. That was probably worse then Village.

Airbender itself already transcended. that movie. just. wow.

My understanding is this is Will Smiths version of Battlefield: Earth. Pretty much the whole movie is based on Scientology auditing. No thanks.

Surprisingly I didn't get peeved watching this today. No MNS twist at the end either.

Well, I did watch it after 2 bottles of wine with a lunch meeting. Not going to see it again until it's on cable though.

I liked the village a lot. The twist felt weak but it was a cool conccept. I also liked Lady in the water
