My biggest gripe was I wanted to like it and didn't. It's been 20 years since uo came out and this game was so close to being the next uo but for whatever reason it just didn't have the magic... Maybe it's the zones or item based abilities? I can't quite put my finger on it.
It became very frustrating with the resource grind and how slow and unrewarding it all felt.
The auction houses take away some of the player interaction as well, although they arent linked between towns it still made it impossible to carve out a space in the game for yourself.
You interacted with the world but you don't really get a part of it on a small scale. You go big or go home.
Although player towns in uo were eyesores sometimes, there's just something satisfying on plopping down a small house in the woods that is yours and you have become part of that world.
