There's a book series about aliens taking over the earth from like the early/mid 90s. It was pretty decent actually. If I recall, lots of nutty people trying to figure out ways to fight aliens or control them.Is this suppose to be cannon?

Fuck no, or at least it shouldn't be.who the hell knows anymore. Is this suppose to be cannon?
Aliens Earth War maybe? I had all the comics, and the two series that let up to it. The original 12 or 16 comics basically followed everything past Aliens. There's a book series about aliens taking over the earth from like the early/mid 90s. It was pretty decent actually. This will probably suck and be about embracing gay and girlpower though. I have a soft spot for the series, so I'll hope.
Read an article about it the other day that the two protagonist are basically a retarded girl and her android mentor / babysitter. I'm not kidding. The description of her was she has the body of a woman but the mind of a child. Its supposedly 30 years before Alien, and will deal with the Sytnhs being created by Weyland-Yutani as well as a crashed ship (Engineers?) that somehow releases Alien's on Earth. Its Noah Hawley though, so don't expect it to fit perfectly into a cannon timeline, he could just as well ignore anything after Aliens, and expect it to get weird (hopefully).
Outside of Fargo S4 and Lucy in the Sky I love all his work so I am hypin this till I see bad.

I'm sure it's going to be great!
I don't think she's the Android though, I think she literally is supposed to be a simpleton, and her Android companion is I'm assuming learning from her. Maybe it's a developmental thing where the Android needs to be a child, and then grow to adulthood consciousness wise?Yea she is like the prototype for the Synths and the AI isnt really evolved so she is like a learning child. They tried to do that with David in Prometheus a bit, I guess they are expanding on that.

Yeah you would think so, because if they did that it would be following the comic books which was a pretty logical series of events that took place after the original two movies. That's what Blomkampf was trying to do until old man Ridley decided to poop out another cinematic turd.Wouldn't it make much more sense for this to be set 30 years after Aliens instead of 30 years before Alien?
Opens the door for a Sigorney Weaver cameo. Just ignore everything after Aliens and have a ball.
Was under the impression that Alien was the first contact between Weyland-Yutani and an actual extraterrestrial life (which all of their missions had a sub-objective of finding).
