Minor sniggles aside (Lift, blushing, too may Shallan chapters) I finished it last night and thought it was fantastic.

Spoiler, but maybe some food for thought as well.
I was bored and decided to reread some of The Way of Kings last night. Mostly I wanted to see the stuff about the Heralds at the beginning, after reading the cosmere stuff. Something I noticed in the first Szeth chapter. He's heading toward assassinating Gavilar, and notices that one of the statues of the Heralds of the Almighty is missing: Shalash. Isn't that the woman that Denth is after Vasher for in Warbreaker? Didn't she make or help make Nightblood? Vasher killed her with it I believe. And it turns out she's one of the ten Heralds of the Almighty, and her statue is suspiciously missing.

Well, I just looked around before posting, and found it's Shashara that Vasher killed, not Shalash. Totally grasping at straws here, but with the similarities in the name, it's possible that they're the same person/entity. Who knows! I've been pretty hooked on the whole cosemere idea since the discussion first started on this forum about it. The scope of a project like that is just awesome to me.
I said nothing, but we've supposedly seen Shalash in person in The Way of Kings. Reasons for this:

- "A woman sits and scratches out her own eyes. Daughter of kings and winds. The vandal." <- Chapter epigraph.
- Brandon has said that 'the mistress' in Baxil's interlude did indeed destroy the Shalash statue that is missing. Why would she want to do that? Again, see the epigraph: "scratches outher own eyes". Not literally so as in to cause self harm, but depictions of her, perhaps?
- He has also confirmed that Shalash is the Herald Jezrien's daughter, who was a king and a Windrunner, the latter due to his Honorblade's powers.

Sanderson said he just finished his first draft of the second book in the Legion series, Legion: Skin Deep. It's to be twice as long as the first and due for a fall release.

Don't hear as much talk in general about Legion compared to his other stuff, but I really, really enjoyed it. Glad he got a chance to do a full length novel with that character/setting.

Finished and loved Words of Radiance. I love the Lopen character, too. His personality is much like Wayne in Mistorn. The audiobook narrator also uses the same accent when he reads their parts. The only thing that really annoyed me were the times Shallan kept throwing out "clever" quips over and over.

Finished it myself, the lack of trust by Kaladin was understandable but a little overdone. Last third of the book kept me up all night as I couldn't put it down.

I finished up his Wheel of Time stuff, then read all of his other material.

Already twitching for some new releases, it's been a slow spring.

If someone wanted to read the Wheel of Time Sanderson stuff but had given up on WoT after far too much braid tugging and lack of plot forward motion would it be acceptable to Wiki-Cliff notes ones way to the first of the Sanderson Wheel novels?

If you feel invested in any of WoT's characters then you may want to read it properly, if you just want closure then read the summary. I kept reading on past a certain point mainly because I really enjoyed Jordan's Matt but sadly Sanderson wasn't able to duplicate the magic of that particular character. Well at any rate at least this series turned me into a skim reading champ which has proved to be fairly useful.

Skim read it until jordans last book. His last and the sanderson ones are worth reading in full.

I really enjoyed the first 5 or 6. It was 7-9 or so where I started to pound my head against the wall because nothing was happening.

Do it. The whole of WoR is like the last quarter of WoK.

Doing it, my body is ready.
The entirety of sanderson's views on magic and what not are all really, really neat. Is mistborn similar? that series is on my to-read list as well but i'm not sure what to expect lol
