Spoiler, but maybe some food for thought as well.
I was bored and decided to reread some of The Way of Kings last night. Mostly I wanted to see the stuff about the Heralds at the beginning, after reading the cosmere stuff. Something I noticed in the first Szeth chapter. He's heading toward assassinating Gavilar, and notices that one of the statues of the Heralds of the Almighty is missing: Shalash. Isn't that the woman that Denth is after Vasher for in Warbreaker? Didn't she make or help make Nightblood? Vasher killed her with it I believe. And it turns out she's one of the ten Heralds of the Almighty, and her statue is suspiciously missing.
Well, I just looked around before posting, and found it's Shashara that Vasher killed, not Shalash. Totally grasping at straws here, but with the similarities in the name, it's possible that they're the same person/entity. Who knows! I've been pretty hooked on the whole cosemere idea since the discussion first started on this forum about it. The scope of a project like that is just awesome to me.
Don't worry, he'll probably put 2 or 3 more books before then!If I'm jonesing for something I don't know how 8 months helps!
If you feel invested in any of WoT's characters then you may want to read it properly, if you just want closure then read the summary. I kept reading on past a certain point mainly because I really enjoyed Jordan's Matt but sadly Sanderson wasn't able to duplicate the magic of that particular character. Well at any rate at least this series turned me into a skim reading champ which has proved to be fairly useful. If someone wanted to read the Wheel of Time Sanderson stuff but had given up on WoT after far too much braid tugging and lack of plot forward motion would it be acceptable to Wiki-Cliff notes ones way to the first of the Sanderson Wheel novels?
I really enjoyed the first 5 or 6. It was 7-9 or so where I started to pound my head against the wall because nothing was happening.Skim read it until jordans last book. His last and the sanderson ones are worth reading in full.
Do it. The whole of WoR is like the last quarter of WoK.Just finished TWOK, absolutely loved it. It was incredibly hard to put down during the last quarter of the book
I'm tempted to just jump into WoR now hnngghh
