Doing it, my body is ready.
The entirety of sanderson's views on magic and what not are all really, really neat. Is mistborn similar? that series is on my to-read list as well but i'm not sure what to expect lol
You'll see similarities between the magic systems from mistborn to stormlight archives since they take place in the same cosmere. Mistborn is a really good series and I enjoyed it.
One thing I will say is that if you read Sanderson in order of release dates, you'll see that it gets much better as a writer over time.

Mistborn magic is cool. Books are good but I wouldnt say wok or WOR good but still fun reads. Also sugest you look at emperor's soul it is a short read with a really cool unique magic system. I'm really looking forward to sixth of dusk

Mistborn is not as good, but it's still well worth reading. Be warned though, the ending of the trilogy is retarded .

Mistborn is one pretty amazing book, one pretty good book, and one half decent half terrible book. In order from first to third.

The follow up book is pretty awesome.

Sanderson seriously sucked donkey dick at ending books/series for a while. He seems to have really overcome that though, the WoK/WoR finales are some Malazan level shit.

Read it=P It's three normal length books and the magic/world are worth it. Plus it sets up Alloy of Law, which was pretty dope. Also many(most?) folks aren't as harsh about the ending as me and velk.

I liked all 3 Mistborn books, I even didn't mind the ending except for the fact that it just ended when I felt like another trilogy could have picked sooner after.

If you have read WoK and WoR, which you have, I think you won't mind the end of Mistborn as much. Going through it without knowing what / who Sanderson would become and eventually write would have been difficult. I mean it is still bad and nothing will change that, but at least we know he got better and can see where he was heading with the Cosmere, other magic systems, Alloy of Law, etc...

You could (or maybe should) read his shorts like Emperor's Soul, Rithmatist, Legion, before going backwards to Elantris or Mistborn, or even Steelheart foot something completely different.

I really want to start a second read of Malazan but that is a pretty huge commitment and I still have a ton of other stuff I want to catch up on and stuff I'm looking forward to release.

At least read the first Mistborn book. It's definitely worth reading real interesting magic system. I think the only book of his you should skip is Elantris, easily the weakest of his books, but still has some cool/interesting points in it.

He has 2 more trilogies planned for mistborn world. One set in modern times like earth and one set in the future

I loved the Mistborn books, especially Alloy of Law, which had good humor in it. Very much looking forward to the futuristic Mistborn books. Mistborn magic in spaaaaaace!

If you plan to keep reading stormlight archive, it's looking like reading warbreaker will be a necessity, seeing as how there is already bleed over between the two worlds.

I read Warbreaker and the only way I pick up on any of the crossover is from meganerds who parse every word of the books pointing them out.

"ZOMG you didn't realize the shoes in the corner of the room in chapter 46 were actually the gloves vaguely referenced in the epilogue of Sanderson's 8th grade creative writing project!?GENKI SUDO WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG!"

As much as I love the idea of the intertwined Cosmere worlds it has absolutely no effect on my enjoyment of the books as I'm actually reading them. I enjoy the shit out of them because they're good books, and I get a nice little kick after that and make some connections after that when I read how they are tied together.

But yeah, I enjoyed Warbreaker so read it anyways=P It's got some of that signature Sanderson mediocre female character stuff going on, and the Scooby Doo endings he enjoyed early, but the one main dude is pretty rad and of course the magic and world are great.

Well Sanderson has said that he doesn't want people to have to pay attention to all the cosmere stuff until the last triology of mistborn. So basically everything in his books are easter eggs for the nerds.

Nightblood showing up at the end of WoR and Szeth wielding him isn't all that obscure. The impact of it is yet to be seen I guess.

Mistborn was the first Sanderson for me and I was instantly pulled into it. The standalone followup (not part of the official trilogy of trilogies) Allow of Law is just damn fun.

I read the Mistborn Series, and it was pretty decent. Some parts moved too fast, but the magic system was nerdtastic. I have yet to read Alloy of Law, but I intend to at some point. The Stormlight stuff I haven't touched. I waiting for it to be finished.

Get ready to wait 8-10 years then. And that's just the first series of five.

I'm thinking Sanderson is one of those authors you can read as they come out. The guy has been churning books out. The way he writes, I am confident I can look forward to a new book every year.
