I think that is the idea.

I have no clue as to the realism of the history, but I could see this being very possible. The shit was harsh in a lot of different ways that nobody today would want to experience. I feel lucky that I can just watch this rather than be a part of it.

The violence in this show gives no fucks at all and it's non-stop. These people are being brutalized.

I like the plot, interesting characters, it looks good, no issues with the acting and it's just fucking wild.

Wow, in this gritty dark American tail, surprisingly one of the main characters is a disabled person with a crippled leg with braces (I guess a wheelchair would have been too much?) although this crippled leg doesn't seem to hinder him at all and he can run fine with it. oh and he's also kind to indians. indians seem relatively benevolent towards whites, while whites seem just savage and violent.

I have to assume you've watched very little of the series if that's your takeaway.

The first thing the Shoshone did on screen was slit the throats of four captive white women. And those are the "good Indians".

Yeah bro, the Indians are fucking brutal in this.

I'm 3 episodes in. Gilpin's character is the absolute worst. She never shuts her fucking mouth, and every time something comes out it's the literal dumbest shit and always wrong. It's rare that a sequence of events like the ones in episode 3 come around and I'm like "yeah, fuck off, you deserve this."
