The Botham's died stealing the plans to the 2nd death star in Return of the Jedi. You know, the death star that just so happened to have an even bigger weakness than the first one, an even larger thermal exhaust vent large enough for the millenium falcon to fly down not just a single torpedo.
Since no one but Vader survived the first death star and he was knocked out of the trench and out of orbit before the explosion, nobody actually knew about the weakness of the death star itself so of course they must have assumed that it exploded because the thermal exhaust port wasn't large enough so they made it even bigger.
Botham's are retarded and died for nothing.

Trying to avoid speculation from trailers, but I honestly hope they do retcon one thing: I hope one of Saw Gerrera's actions blows up in his face, retro-justifying why he just gives up and quits in Rogue One.

finished binging s1 last night, highly recommend rewatching for anyone who doesn't have great memory. i literally forgot almost everything that happened in the finale, thought maarva did her speech live (holo), didn't remember at all what happened to cassian and luthien.
so fucking good though, so many amazing character moments and speeches and "this feels like how real people would behave and talk in this universe" which isn't a feeling i get anymore from 95% of tv shows. Love everything about Mon Mothma and how much scheming she has to do while losing herself.
can't wait for season 2, sounds absolutely insane and i mean my god look at this shit
