I'm pretty tolerant of bullshit in MMOs, tbh.

I'm not sure I would play regularly or anything, I just figure if I give it a shot at some point, I'd rather be on a server with some people I might know rather than alone.
I just got back into the game, pretty much with nothing and it's... A shell of what it was at release but it's still playable, just there is a gear difference but as far as weapons, not too bad, hasla weapons are pretty good but it's a long road to get them. Kyrios is very populated but it's all top heavy, those who are playing have been playing the whole time. From my experience right now, the west faction is a cluster fuck with lots of butthurt going on, nothing really to look forward to.

The thing is, without paying for gear (chests and apex) it's a long fucking road to doing much PvP, basically if you want to play you can and if you want to level the playing field you can pay to get up to speed quickly or you can casually play and just do farm ville for a few months to starting swinging your dick around.

All in all, the game isn't really your best option to play unless you really want to or have some friends to play with, the game just doesn't have enough payoff to justify the significant dedication required starting fresh right now or in its foreseeable future.

My 2c.

AA is a lot of fun but there's two big problems:
1. If you want to compete at the high levels and be a real force you need to spend some thousands of hours building your gear set, or thousands of USD.
2. There's too many safe zones and PvP is too hard to find. You can go out on the seas (And Raes' guild, Aquanauts does this a lot!) but a lot of times you just run around and can't find people.

If you just wanted to roll on Kyrios, level up, participate etc etc, you can and have fun doing it. But anytime you run into well geared players it's not even a real fight. And even being one of those people is annoying because unless you fight a geared player you don't feel like you win a fight legitly.
I'm not super concerned with coming into a game what, a half year or more late, and turning into a top level pvper, so that's all good.

Just looking for a new distraction to hop in and out and dick around in some, if it gets more serious than that at some point, that's fine as well.

Thanks for the advice.

If I decide to play I'll hop into the thread and mention it. In game name will almost certainly be Hodj.

If you do join I recommend rolling East. A few people rolled west with the idea that they'd be able to PvP us or something and it never worked out. Really the west and east generally keep to their own continents in this game because of the way the game is designed, so even if you want to PK people on the east, rolling east would be better.

Pretty sure I rolled East. That's the side with the asian looking dudes and the anthropomorphic cat type characters, correct?

That's what I made, but it'll be probably several more weeks before I have time to really invest in playing it beyond an hour here or there.

That's why the PVP stuff really isn't a concern or barrier to at least checking the game out for me.

Hodj, just go play Neverwinter.
I tried Neverwinter when it first came out. Can't recall much of it, but I do recall not finding it very interesting.

I'd recommend leveling as Daggerspell and then leveling up defense, auramancy and occultism in that order.

So yeah, seems I may indeed have the only ayanad bow on the entire cluster, which is a tell-tale sign of just how asinine they've made the drop rates for ayanad designs. I've been corresponding every day or two with the same individual who provided the community with the thunderstruck tree proc rate information and his data is showing a best-case scenario of a 1 in 40,000 drop rate for the tomes themselves, which is then followed by a 1 in 20 roll for a particular design. That would be 1 in 800,000 if shooting for a specific design, which given what I've seen on our cluster (we have a necklace design up, that's it; with the slightly higher-populated Lucius server in our cluster keeping most of their tomes off the AH for trades or crafted offers for whatever ridiculous price they're going for; I bought mine for 20K and my feelings towards how your typical player is going to see this is another story entirely, I'm sure) is about right seeing as people aren't really farming Library in significant numbers.

Having to climb the RNG hurdle just to land yourself at a point where you possess a Delphinad weapon capable of being upgraded to Ayanad is surely trial by RNG-shitfire enough, but this just blows my mind. At this rate I could be the only individual with one for quite a long time and to be honest I'd prefer this not be the case. Sure epeenepeenepeen but it'll get stale quickly. Basically don't have any use for currency at this point outside of blowing it on V2 obsidian shortspear / armor acquisition and regrades so I've opted to help out those I play with entirely, seeing as Ayanad armor is likewise a pipe dream. Gave some less-fortunate friends we've recently encountered a free delph bow because they're the type to probably stay at T3 hasla-range without help and it honestly felt really good.

So now I basically just roll around on my underpopulated server keeping shitlords in check from griefing newcomers in Hasla or lowbies etc. Oh, and farm Auroria for my move speed cloak. Fucking three cloaks now and no luck as of yet.

Edit: Thanks RNGesus for the Tidal roll.

Only three Ayanad designs dropped during the entirety of the time the Alpha server was up. The drop rates on those have always been awful.

What armor are you using, Morsakin?
4 Piece Delph Gale (Jerkin / Guards / Waist / Boots)
3 Piece Delph Squall (Breeches / Gloves / Helm)

All purchased with the exception of the jerkin which I crafted myself; the only delph piece I've made after nearly a thousand armor pieces.

With Obsidian armor coming out I'm finding that the gloves / cap are going to be a nice addition with the added bonus of not having to worry about re-arranging or acquiring new Gale pieces to maintain the 4-set bonus.

Did you spend RL money for that armor? It doesnt look like you had much luck crafting. I am still running around in a wild mix of Auroria armor, 1 Delphinad Typhoon, Epherium Squall, Serpentis belt and Dahutas Cap. I am enjoying the slow gear progression, when you dont p2w and with enough time invested and a bit of luck with the crafting you can still get decent gear. Well, except my fucking Obsidian Spear, who decided to not upgrade ever. I spent roughly 6k Gold on it, before it decided to go Celestial and give me the middle finger.

Outside of the $120 I spend each month to maintain 8 patron accounts, no. This time last month I was generally spending about 3-4 hours each day playing spreadsheet online and/or farmville prior to actually doing anything with my time spent online. While my luck crafting anything Delph+ hasn't been lucky outside of the jerkin I've crafted a whole bunch of epherium pieces. I also got stupid lucky when purchasing some of those flashy racing kits off the AH when they first came out; bought like 10 boxes and ended up with 22 saplings, half of which went TS when they were still selling for a decent chunk of change, so that gave my cash base a pretty hefty boost that I just kept compiling atop. Aside from that my cash has been from yatas as I run what I believe is still the largest yata ranch on the cluster (10 connected 16's).

Given the incoming archeum tree patch I decided to kill two birds with one stone and ended up placing down a thatched and 7 gazebos in Heedmar; so I can either farm archeum en masse here in a few weeks, or simply gold via lazily farming massive amounts of bundles. Doing the latter I can literally undercut the market on basic commodities by 20-30%+ and still churn out ~250g a day if I harvest two cycles and can push the entirety of the volume I'm producing, which amounts to about 11,000 of a given bundle produce type. Basically just going for an easily managed economy of scale at this point while I work on a car since I was given an Apex Squall design by the folks I gave the aforementioned delph bow to. Once my alts recover some labor after having most of it raped away via the production of 4 gazebos yesterday I'll be crafting again while utilizing almost all of my characters given the proficiency requirements being lowered. Basically just going to turn my daily routine into a leatherworking assembly line when materials allow, which should hopefully be a rather assured proposition given the upcoming changes to the base archeum supply.

That's why I stopped playing. It was boring just reading all that, and the sad part is it's really the best risk free way to earn an income. =(

Later, a thread was made with the same content, but without the guilds listed. Our understanding is that the guilds they reached out to declined to fight us:
A United East

They attempted to run a PRX/SL/GRIT free GR raid, which we largely ignored and went PvPing on the sea instead. When we got word that GB, Refuge and Aquanauts were in Ynystere, we ported to Ynystere to engage them. We found GankBus there and had a good fight with them that was a close victory.

Afterward we encountered a large force comprised of Last Resort, Marked and Bacon. We stood firm and they flagged and attacked us, beginning the night. After defeating them, we engaged in a prolonged three way fight between GankBus/Refuge, PRX/GRIT/SL and Marked/Desolation/Bacon/LastResort.

After peace occurred, Marked/LR began cart blocking to Ynystere.

We'll see how this war goes compared to the last time. The last time Marked rucked up and tried to organize a war against us their leaders betrayed them a week later and the remaining leaders asked for peace. Marked generally keeps to peace zones/guards (a major deficiency in this game), so finding them in an area we can attack them is difficult. We had declared war on Bad Intentions earlier that day because their leadership attacked one of our trade carts and when I went to them to clear things up they told us to bring it.

No idea what'll happen now that LR, Bad Intentions, Desolation and Marked are fortified together and want to fight, but it'll be interesting!
