Made the mistake of posting with the porkers and no one actually answered if the costco powder that I believe is new looks like it might be quality like when they relabel Tide, or if it's garbage like all their shoes. I do need to eat a bit better sure, if nothing else for vitamin etc reasons, but I admitted I'd like to lose maybe 5-10 and that brought out people I know were in there >250lbs trying to go banana's making an excel of my diet.

I think pretty much all the protein powders are effectively the same, unless the brand is caught somehow not putting whey protein in their whey protein or something. I think most of the "x brand is garbage" comes from all the extra stuff they try to stuff in there for marketing reasons that is usually useless dosages or unnecessary because all you need is gotten elsewhere etc.

The Fairlife ones are good.
I like the atkins drinks. I tried some fair life. I keep them in the fridge. The first one was good, but the second one had some kind of solid in it and I haven't tried another one yet. As best as I can tell, it was just chocolate but it was kind of gross having that unexpected texture in your mouth. Working theory is that being in the fridge caused it somehow. Besides, they weren't as good as atkins.

Also, I might be drinking them for different reasons. I drink them so I don't eat ice cream.

Probably more expensive than you want but this is basically all I use my apple watch for is tracking workouts and looking at the time. Turn all the other shit off and the battery will last for days too.

I think I may have hit that age wall at 53. I'm down almost 1/3 my weights in most exercises from just 3 years ago. My recovery is way down. I used to be able to hit the same body part once every five days...a week minimum now. Fuck me.

Time for HRT + ? That aside, I'm sure there are ways to minimize downtime/increase recovery and still maintain - even post 50.

I think the solids in the drinks are just protein powder that didn't get mixed fully and stayed clumped up or gets pasty.

This happened to me about a year ago (49 now). I considered hrt but didn't. I did another sleep study and found my apnea was off the charts again. CPAP and my sleep is much better quality now. Now I'm actually seeing gains again.

Shit, I didn't know about an age wall. I'm 50 now and as strong as I've ever been. I think I'm going to treat it like a medical problem and ignore it as long as I can.

To put this in context last time I remember you talking about your lifts you were insanely strong - like incline pressing 300+lbs? Thats obviously going to fall off some with age since you were starting from such a strong baseline.

At your (our) age you might want to pivot into doing more mobility/endurance/flexibility type training to preserve your joints and mobility as you get older. The kind of retard strength you have isn't going to last I wouldn't think, but you're still going to want to be able to scratch your back and touch your toes when you're 65.

Easy there man! That incline was at 405! (Not even 315 now)

Yeah...That's what my friends all said. Time to switch it up. It's bothering me because I see a couple guys my age, just still going at it. I know everyone is different, but in my head, I feel like I should be there with them, but my body is like fuck you. Two of them I know are still using creatine and one started pins. Pins, hell no. Creatine I stopped using a couple years ago.

Maybe start reps and cardio, see how I feel and look. My endurance is absolute ass though. It would be nice to lose like 20 more pound also.

Anybody using steroids don't bother comparing yourself with especially as you age, and the ones that still seem to be improving at 50+ who claim they aren't using steroids probably are. You do you man, comparison is ass when everyone lies.

I found that as I entered into my 40s ( 44 now). That the side effects of legal cannabis were getting to me. It really effected my motivation, messes with my sleep, and I just felt tired all the time. Giving it up had had a huge postive effect for me personally. The wife and I will still take a gummy for a concert or a fun movie night but there's no more daily consumption and its really helped my gym gains.

Dont have the same side effects, but I think smoking weed lowers your metabolism. Everything Ive read about it says it does the otherwise, maybe its different for different people idk. But anytime I have a weight loss plateau or dont seem to be getting anywhere if im trying to make gains, if I stop smoking and change nothing else, it ends up immediately working.
