So right now I am in my mid 30's, 6'4", weigh 220, and according to my high speed scale I have 21% body fat. Is it realistic to set a goal to get down to 10% body fat and if so, will working out 3 (sometimes 4) days a week 1 hour at a time with no trainer be sufficient enough? How hard is it to get down to that percentage and keep it off? Thanks.
Easy. I can write you a 12 week diet/workout program. If you commit to it for 4 weeks then I guarantee you'll want to keep going.

I'm tempted to take you up on this. I'd be curious to see what kind of plan you'd come up with. I'm not a gym rat anymore.. That's my biggest problem Anything over an hour is too much for me.

Utter nonsense? There are a lot of natties out there lying man. Some of them, you can see the injection marks. Some of them even have videos of their "random" drug tests, but you still can tell from the marks that at one point they were injecting.

I'm a bit skeptical, sure, but I've seen too many people in the gym getting ready for nattie competitions, talking about drug regimens in the locker room over the years.

What comes to mind especially, is all of the elite crossfitters claiming to be drug free. LOL.

If you just want to lose weight and reduce your body fat then you don't need to spend hours in the gym each week.

that's all I'm doing. I have slow progress but it's progress. I guess I'm just bored and looking for something new

Hahaha 50 pounds for a "Bulking Bible", what a fucking joke.
Yeah, those guys are raking it in by putting out a new version of previous guides every year.

That's not the discussion point here, I just thought "if you make money from fitness you're on steroids" was dumb

I didn't say "100% of the time" they are. But there's a pretty high chance.

It's the same reason I laugh at the steroids in professional athletes arguments. Yeah, someone's really going to give up hundreds of thousands of dollars bynottaking something.

I'm not familiar with GVT but send me what you're thinking. I enjoy BFL but I'm open to try something new.

Ossoi, which lifts do you perform in GVT? I know it is multi joint mass lifts, but which ones do you recommend? Also, do you do 4 days, 2 upper and 2 lower?

So you're saying the first 4 weeks is strictly cardio? HIIT x4 a week?

I agree with others. I know of ONE dude my entire gym that is 100% natural. The dude is genetic freak. I've known him since high school, and he has always been cut beyond belief. Every one else to a man, that is lean and cut, will gladly tell you what they use to stay that way. Every other guy that is natural is approaching 20% body fat.

I've yet to meet someone that can keep lean muscle naturally. And by that I mean that "magazine" look lean.

I would say it is definitely possible, it is just a full time job to do so. And while internet dollars are a real thing these days, quite a large chunk still have day jobs. Which means that to get the look that sells clicks, they are most likely using some type of enhancement drug.

Put pretty simply, I would be ripped like Jesus 24/7 if I was getting paid well to do so. But if I could spend 10 hours a week instead of 40 to look that way with a little chemical help and the pay stayed the same? I'm not sure that's even a real question.

I'm about 80% recovered from knee surgery (x3) and got back into the gym at the suggestion of my PT. All was going well for a couple months, making solid beginner gains all over again, then I tweaked my wrist with an ez-curl bar a couple weeks ago. I get my chiropractor to check it out, and he asks me why I never told him I had Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome in a really matter-of-fact kind of way. Queue the google search, a little freaking out, and a call to my real doctor. My real doctor confirms that I do in fact have it, and now he's trying to find a geneticist to refer me to. Worst case it's 20% life threatening by 30 and 80% life threatening by 40. Best case early onset osteoarthritis and constant and worsening musculoskeletal pain. I have an EKG scheduled to rule out an aneurysm in my heart later this week.

tl;dr... fuck ez-curl bars.

Wow, shitty way to find out something like that.

And I'd say really that EZ Bar Curls could have saved your life. Let that sink in for a moment...
