Was IW just too complex for you?
Yep, was my main issue. Double the energy in the Universe in a way that doesn't affect life, thus doubling the resources and halving the rate of entropy. Quadruple it, if you want. Make stars magical so they draw energy from dimensions with infinite amounts, like Strange, thus stopping the whole idea of entropy and a limitation of resources. We could go all day with ideas that avoid murdering half of all people.
what gets me is -and it just occurred to me this morning: Didn't thanos ORIGINALLY HAVE THE FUCKING MIND STONE which was in Loki's Staff/weapon in Avengers 1? all that trouble for something you HAD initially and LOST.
I just want more Drax, fuck everyone else.
Yes. I find the more "complexity" a story has the worse it is. Diluted focus, unclear or non-existent theme, wasting screen time with self-indulgent bullshit.
We all knew going in Thanos would win and kill off a bunch of superheros. We also knew going in that the Titanic would sink.
IW plot: Thanos wants to kill half of the universe. Marvel wants to include 40+ superheroes in a movie. They do. He does. The End.
Titanic's Plot: A noblewoman from a poor family betrothes a rich, abusive asshole. On the voyage she falls in love with a charming peasant and decides to run away with him. Then the Titanic sinks and the lovers are separated.
One of these movies is a timeless classic. The other is IW.
Winter Soldier: Adventures with Rabbit and TreeTwo years ago I would have paid for a Falcon/Winter Soldier buddy movie but now I want a WS/Rocket one
