Vision is going to be rebooted by Shuri. However, he's turned into Monochrome Vision, which is an entirely different person in the comics. To the dismay of Scarlet Witch who will lose her Wanda Lovetoy™.

Yes it is common knowledge Portman didn't want to do anymore. Hence the recasting.

Also Shuri has her own Panther suit in the comics so there is no need to put her in the IM suit. She has her own tech and will probably see it in the sequel.

This cash cow will be milked for all it's worth so Disney using the gender and race diverse version of the phase 1 to 3 characters is a given. The comics have done it and it will be done for the MCU.

So get ready for Lady Thor, Black spider-man, spider gwen, Korean Thor, Black (or Bucky) Captain America, Kate Bishop Hawkeye, black female MIT student IM, etc. I can't wait for them to get the Xmen rights back to see people's brain explode again when a gay Ice-man hits the screen.

What the fuck. Infinity War is NOTHING like Last Jedi in any way.

Last Jedi answered every hotly anticipated plot point with "it doesn't matter". The infamous subverted expectations discussed to death. Nobody gives a shit about Episode 9 now.

Infinity War answered it's own with awesome scenes. Which were: "How do the Heroes meet/interact?" and "How does Thanos get the stones?" and "Does Thanos actually win?". Avengers 4 is now highly anticipated.

To be like Last Jedi, Infinity War would have to do shit like not have Guardians of the Galaxy meet any Avengers, have Thor's Axe sidequest end without a new weapon and have Thanos give up on the stones.

Thanos killing Gamora for the Soul Stone may subvert expectations but it's BETTER than the expectation that the Soul Stone was just in Wakanda and all the Guardians of the Galaxy would live to the next movie consequence free.

Rey being nobody subverted expectations but it's WORSE than her being a Kenobi, Skywalker or Palpatine clone.

I really enjoyed how they used Dr. Strange in this movie. He's had a good progression from his origin movie, to his cameo in Ragnarok, to now. I was afraid he was going to just do more portals and shields, but they showed how much more he has learned since his origin.

yeah the Dr. Strange movie is one of my least liked, i didn't even rewatch it in my MCU marathon, but he was good in Thor 3 and this movie.

and yeah TLJ and this are nothing alike. I don't care about Solo or Episode 9 and the few characters left didn't really advance a whole lot in TLJ. I am 100% in for Avengers 4 and Captain Marvel which should be the bridge between the stories, I really wanna see what happens next and I really have no idea and there are tons of characters around who can mix and match in cool ways. A lot of rumors suggest about A4 that

Avengers 4 will start with a 5 year time skip, which would be INSANE!!!

If that's true that would be crazy, but bringing back half the population at that point would essentially make Thanos' decision the correct one. Unless time is reversed in addition to the snap.

Here is a funny story when I saw this. I watched it in the dolby cinema and when they are fighting Thanos at the end and bucky is shooting him off screen it sounded like gun fire out of the theater. Well people actually thought it was real and people bolted for the exit. Had a couple people trip over my seat making a run for it. I looked at the guy next to me and we were like wtf? Then someone screams out gun fire and the whole theater ran for the exit. Ruined the last 5 minutes for me because people were just running for their lives.

i didn't really like it when i saw it in theater, but when the GF and i watched it in our MCU marathon we liked it more. mainly Strange didn't seem like such a douchebag on second viewing, which made the movie more bearable.

The only one of those trailers my showing had was Jurassic, which I didn't care about before or after

We also had Harry Potter, Deadpool 2, and a couple of things I'm blanking on (clearly, effective trailers)

I just got back from this and really don't know what to make of it. There are so many different "life or death" and internal struggles and so many subplots finally interconnecting that you barely have time to reconcile what's happening on screen. Also the ending made me just say to myself "Welp, guess I'll have to reserve judgment until the second movie".

I can't imagine that they actually plan on killing off spiderman though so the ending almost seemed like a slight spoiler. Though I don't know how they plan on telling us "just kidding". Is it that Dr Strange was fucking with Thanos via the time stone or is someone going to recover the reality or time stone and change the past?

One major gripe I had with the movie was the shit tier "hulk no wanna be hulk" garbage. The movie was 2 and half hours long and no goddamn hulk except for the VERY beginning.

The Hulk is fine and everything, but as far as entertainment goes I'll take Mark Ruffalo's Banner over Hulk for days.

As far as what happens next, it's unclear whether Strange was able to see into the future past his own demise so no idea if he manipulated things to happen this way so an ultimate resolution could end up happening in their favor. Considering the next 2 movies before A4 are in-universe before IW events, I would guess it picks up pretty soon after and they fight to just undo things and it ends up destroying the stones or some such thing. They've said Captain Marvel is on another tier of power compared to the other MCU heroes (I'm going to assume similar to Thor as he is end of IW) so she'll be key I imagine. I don't really expect it to turn out to be dream / time stone shenanigans from Strange.

Why didn't Dr. Strange use the time stone at any time up until the final fight? He tried to use it during the fight but got his hands tied down.

He and the guardians could have gone to Knowhere and turned back time to before Thanos arrived and taken the reality stone to a safe place. They could have done the same with the power stone.

He didn't have the stone on him during the Thanos battle. His locket was empty so he couldn't use the stone as he had hidden it. I think there's a small window for turning back time and I think they would have had to be present when it was taken to do so. Otherwise you can just ask why didn't they use the Time Stone to rewind to XXXXX moment at any point and stop Thanos. Can create infinite plotholes, so they have to limit it as much as they can.

There'll be a limit on its use so you can't go back that far.

Don't the infinity stones buff each other? So Time+Power means you can go back in time further, or Time+Space means you can effect time outside your current location?

Dr Strange would need all three to reverse what happened at Nowhere.
