You guys care way too much. Even in it's hayday (which I guess it still technically is based upon donation volume) it was a collection of weirdos. The biggest issue is the content is mostly rehashed since there are only so many games people speed run.

When a game that has already been shown in previous years is on the schedule again, it means that the run has changed significantly, that the run being showed is of a different category or that it is an event of sorts (blindfold, 2 players 1 controller, race, etc). I am not sure what the runs accepted / runs submitted ratio is, but I can tell you that, every time, a bunch of well known runners make solid propositions that get refused, so they seem to have a lot to chose from.

Anyway, I am curious to see the Batman race between EndySWE and dxtr. The theoretically possible sub 10 is more possible than ever thanks to some newly discovered pattern manipulation for the Joker and a new way to do one of the bosses. They recently traded the WR back and forth with EndySWE getting a 10:00 a few days ago. Who knows? Maybe we'll get a sub 10 in the race?

You are misunderstanding why people tune in. No one gives a flying fuck about seeing someone shave 20 seconds off a run because they found out they can clip through a wall in level 4. People watch for the commentary and just seeing the game played at a high level. The vast, vast majority of people who tune in are not avid speed runners they're video game enthusiasts. If we see the same game two GDQs in a row it is monotonous even if this game gets completely slightly faster due to routing.
