Haha Lucy Lawless would make a perfect wonder woman. What they have looks like a flat chested cosplay.

Lucy would have 10 years ago or so now not so sure, though she looked fine in Spartacus.

Could be worse, could have been Sandra Bullock.

To bad they did not just go ahead and cast Gemma Arterton for Wonder Woman. She is about as close as you get minus not being 6 feet tall. High heels would have made up for the height.

Jeeeica. Beil.

She's tall enough(5'8"), she's already beefy and has shown she'll bulk up for a role, she can act well enough for Wonder Woman, she's hot. It was such a no brainer and they whiffed. She's been the right answer from the start and all these other suggestions have been stupid and wrong.

lets face facts. hollywood has gotten wonder woman right only one time with Lynda Carter and because of neofeminism will never do so again.

If you really wanted muscle and athletic abilities, the right answer was Gina Carano. For height and screen presence, I maintain that Gal Gadot is a good choice. Adrianne Palicki (who played the part for TV) or Blake Lively would also have been good fits for height and presence while being less slender and possibly better actresses (if that happens to be important for the part!).

Pretty sure Biel passed on WW years ago.

Take a look at Gemma in some of her roles, she's no bigger then Gadot.

No one is ever going to be happy with casting WW, she's near impossible to cast.

Gadot is fine. If they can make Sly Stallone look 6 feet tall in the Rocky movies, they'll make her look just fine as wonder woman.

The issue with Galdot is not that she is a thin rail jewish girl trying to play a buffed out greek amazon. It is those features combined with a complete lack of acting ability.

Hollywood? Really, don't think Hollywood had anything to do with the old WW show, it was a tv production and back then you could take a chance on an unknown actress. Carter, while an amazing icon for her time was lightning in a bottle.

when i or people say hollywood, it typically means we are referring to tv and movies because the movie companies own the tv networks and use their assets to produce both

She passed on a previous iteration of a JLA movie. I believe there have been four or five since 2000, and none of them made it to final production.

I still assume Batman is going to invent kryptonite, and it'll probably be the "Superman is weak but still dangerous" variety so the movie can have an actual fight.

Eh? They never tried to portray Rocky as a tall boxer, in fact a few of his bouts it was obvious that he was the shorter boxer, playing into his little guy underdog beats big guy role.

Even if Biel had repeatedly turned down roles, I would think that with the signing of Affleck (whether we like him in the role or not) it would have been at least worth asking her again after that news. For all we know, maybe they did.

I still think she would have been about the best choice too.

OK Man of Steel was super-ridiculous in that the movie was the inverse for everything Superman stands for. Looking past that which pretty much tanked the film for me, it would have been a good action flick if they would have called it "Adventures of Man from Another Planet". By itself, pretty good action flick, well done sci-fi hero film, but it was not a Superman movie. This upcoming film has me very worried, it is looking like this one will tank the series and they will have to start from scratch AGAIN.

I am still in the camp that says Brandon Roth is a good Superman, and Superman Returns was a way better film than Man of Steel. I would have liked to see where the went with it. The distressed airplane sequence in Superman Returns is by far the best ever IMO, Louis Lane had that look like she said "fuck it, I am going to die", then she turns to the right and sees a streak of red and blue, and now she has that "wtf" look. Shit gives me the chills just thinking about it. Anyways, every time they release teasers for this film, my opinion keeps going down and down.
