Yeah that's been the chief complaint ever since Gal Gadot was cast. She's a 5'10 beanpole from Israel, not a 6'0 warrior woman from Themyscira.
I mean obviously 2 inches of height is no big deal, but the physique is a bit ridiculous. I guess they wanted someone who looked somewhat Mediterranean, and Gadot was probably the only one with any recognizability and height. I cringe at the idea of Gina Carano having anything more than a couple simple lines in a movie, much less a major speaking part. Adrianne Palicki would have looked good, but she already failed as Wonder Woman once, and is currently involved in a Marvel project. Emily Blunt could maybe pull it off, she made a great warrior woman in Edge of Tomorrow, but I'm hoping Marvel plans to tap her to play Carol Danvers.

She can't act for shit, i mean she punches and throws around women, she's not supposed to know how to act, but at least she looks good on screen in action scenes.

Carana just lacks the on screen charisma that the big action stars have. Shes more of a stunt double then an actor imo.

I sorta get the impression that DC specifically didn't want a blonde light-skinned actress, they're trying to commit to diversity, sorta like how they turned Deadshot black, or everyone else on the Suicide Squad stupid looking.
Personally I feel like they should commit to making better movies before they worry about diversity.

Wat? Keanu Reeves looks 100% white. 47 Ronin was going to be bad (enjoyably bad imo) no matter who they cast as the lead.
In whichever Fast and Furious movies Gal Gadot was in, she has darker complexion than your average american white girl, and has a thick accent. Which is why I originally said Mediterranean. She definitely looks less run of the mill white girl than Gina Carano or Adrianne Palicki.
