Everything seems fine with Brave.
how is Brave with the system resources?
I've heard about this, it'll become an arms race between ad blocker software and YouTube.

I have Premium. One thing that pisses me off though is that creators are still allowed to inject their own sponsorships into the middle of a video. I've unsubbed from some channels, but they all seem to be doing it now.

lol I just skip past that shit and I laugh when I move my cursor fast forward and it always lands on 'most replayed' lol

I got this a bit ago. I reinstalled the ublock origin extension and that fixed it.

I just refreshed it and it started working again but it has come up a handful of times already, good to know for if it actually doesn't load, I can do this right away

I can't get Brave to work, Chrome is fine with ublock extension.

Brave, even after updating, doesn't seem to work.

Edit : nvm - Brave built-in adblocker doesn't work, ublock extension does.
Firefox crew checking in

seems to be working find now, wondering if Youtube is up to something new

It uses a fair amount of memory (2-3 gigs) but I have lots of tabs open and none of my machines have less that 32 gigs of RAM. Usually less that 5% CPU and that's with video running.
Every now and then FF will go haywire and take up a shit load of resources and then it gets fixed in another update, although I disabled one of my OS extensions and it stopped, so I'm wondering if that might have been it in this most recent case. 32gb here, but I use a really tiny pc, so using 4 slots is out of the question, maybe I'll upgrade to 64 or higher soon.

You can't deny that it does feel very satisfying to have been correct in most aspects of it all along, in the face of the popular narrative that was parroted by the "intellectuals".

Some of it is still around though - people are still getting "vaccinated" for Covid by taking "boosters" for a coronavirus!
Do they even question what, uh, variant of Covid they're even on? I remember all of that alpha, gamma bullshit, so according to their thinking... which one are they being vaccinated against again?

They were never exactly critical thinkers when they would denounce travel bans and anti-immigration stances as xenophobic despite those very things being the international equivalent to social distancing. I vaguely recall the UK getting extra fucked because they kept letting Indians in who had their own hyper evolved covid, no doubt because of their lack of sanitary standards, but being called a racist is worse than dying from covid according to their brain rot.
Leftists aren't just stupid which is why we need to throw out the rubbish known as "Hanlon's razor": never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

This nonsense is bandied about whenever some bad actor behaves the way Leftists behaved during Covid.

Stupidity and malice are not mutually exclusive conditions. They are often found working together.

I think that one of the most demoralizing lessons learned from Covid is that a significant part of the population thinks of freedom as a burden and want to exchange it for provisions and fewer responsibilities. This desire unleashed malice aimed at those who do not want to give up their freedom.

Wincel is emblematic of this sort of person: lazy, pedantic, self-righteous, and a vicious practitioner of sophistry.
Holy shit, man, thank you. I have always hated that stupid Hanlon adage that has only remained because it piggybacks off of Occam's actual Razor, and it turns out it was pretty much just a joke submission.

It's even more egregious given how often we recognize the evil behind stupid people who blindly follow orders.

You highlighted the problem in this country in that we have people whose core beliefs intrinsically clash with everything that the nation was founded on, but instead of removing themselves, they wish to force their own ideology upon everyone else.
Anyone else see this recently? First time I've seen this EVER since YouTube has gone to war against ad blockers.

I haven't had any issues with Firefox or Brave, both using Ublock Origin.

Gotta love how they try to paint ads in some positive light letting billions use it while ignoring how they've torpedoed the entire platform for everyone trying to get them on subscriptions that they'll just introduce ads for to justify an even more expensive tier.
that's the most entertaining part, is you've got a lot of virtue signaling dick heads who are dick riding this dude while blissfully being unaffected by that inconvenient thing called reality
Truth. Outspoken liberals and feminists are always the most guilty of everything they screech about.

At least for browsers, check out sponsorblock.

It's one of the niceties about smart tube next for streaming devices alongside a far superior user interface.

The fact that creators have resorted to using sponsors as a primary means of guaranteed pay rather than even just a supplement is a testament to Youtube's continuing failure on the service end for both viewers and creators, and instead treating it first and foremost as another advertiser platform.

Youtube will demonitize or further penalize channels over the most mundane and inane infractions without an ounce of consistency or the ability for creators to fight back against a one-sided algorithm war.

I think they have entire countries IP banned...
That's probably legitimate. As probably any forum the amount of spam account creation you get from like 3 countries is off the charts. Those being: RU, UKR, and Pakistan.
You get some from other countries too, but those 3 are far and away the worst offenders.

I wouldn't think SK is a problem as far as spam accounts though.

South Korea? No, not that I can recall. I'm curious why it's mainly those few countries as compared to other countries though. Some laws against call centers and spamming or fraud or something? Lack of general internet access in Uzbekistan maybe? No idea.
