The game only made it's money based on the goodwill from the first that was unapologetic in what it was, and the lead being a duplicitous grifter who denied and hid all of the woke shit that they just so happened to add while every other game was acquiescing to EGS.
Personally, I'm past the point of allowing the benefit of the doubt or ceding an inch because we've already seen how doing so just lets the crazies take that as an invitation to completely corrupt and distort things for their own vision.
I think most gamers are finally at the point where they're just so frustrated and tired of all the bullshit ruining their hobby they are simply taking hard stances on this shit and voicing themselves with their wallets. It's like the way the silent majority showed up and voted in November, we're all at the point where all we can do is simply say no in the most vested and effective means possible, the only way we can't be silenced anymore.

For the record, AKD was banned not just for this incident, but for at least 2 other incidents of sperging out on people and threatening them with bodily harm including with a deadly weapon. Whether that threat is empty or just drunken ranting isn't really relevant, people shouldn't have to put up with that level of abuse here and we even have rules against it.
It's not a high bar to clear, TBH.

That guy has always been genuinely stupid and unhinged. Types like a high school dropout and seems to behave like one as well. I remember him getting worked up over the stupidest things, the kind of guy who seemed to always lose his shit at anyone he'd be talking to. For an extra laugh, they have inaccessible churches and cathedrals in medieval, majority Catholic Bohemia, but they could dedicate an entire mission to defending a Synogogue and Jewish quarter that never existed against the cartoonishly evil Christians, and another quest about making a golem and Jewish cabals. Plus a gypsy prostitute talking about hermaphrodites.
You don't go from "no, someone from France can't play as a French person," to "surprise gay butt sex."
The real redpill clue? Games journalists are actually praising it this time.
From what I understand about BG3, you actually do have complete player agency where you can murder anyone and go out of your way to be as much of a hateable bastard as you please; that's basically where this meme came from:

Yup I've long been at the point where I treat critic praise as a bad thing, especially if they are handing out 9's and 10's to something, they tend to only do that if it pushes "the message." The more I read about this game the more it sounds lame and gay. Helps how I played the original and thought it sucked as well. One of those games that seems to demand you to obsess over it with it's fucked up save system that has some straight up garbage combat mechanics. When I tried to play it I was struggling to see what I could possibly like about it over Elder Scrolls or Baldurs Gate. Heck I would even rather play Dark Souls or Elden Ring and I usually think of those as offputting sweatlord games, but at least their combat isn't broken.All truth, man.
