Giro makes nice comfy stuff, find somewhere with a bunch and let her try.

(The last piece of my upgradeitis... I think.)
I lied.

Edit: Just a frame, fork, cranks and a stem away from being able to put together a second bike with spares. Might try and find a few year old Trail SL2 or something and build up a fire road budget beater.

For some reason, I expected this to be smaller... Holy crap, it's huge! (And that's what she said...)

Can't put it on until tomorrow (need to borrow a buddy's chain whip) but pretty stoked it's here. Showed up 3 weeks early.

Eat shitballs, I've probably dropped $500 on bike tools in the last 6 months. I did order one, but since the sprocket is here now and the whip won't be here until Monday:

Well if you quit buying anodized matching bike tools, you could fork out the 20 bucks for a parktools chain whip.

I buy shit as I need it. And anodized tools = performance. You know this to be true.
I know, I'm just giving you a hard time.

I've been tempted to buy a wheel truing stand and start building my own wheels up but it seems like it's too much money for something I'll only use once or twice a year.

I have the cheaper park one (the TS-8). It's not bad for like $90. I had planned to build up a set of wheels, but after tearing down an old taco'd wheel to salvage the hub, I decided that I would never have the time/patience to lace up a new wheel from scratch. I made it about 10 spokes into my teardown before I just busted out the cutters and chopped the thing out, haha.

I may give it a go again over the summer sometime, but it's definitely time consuming.

I have the PS-9 stand (which this doesn't fit) but if I had the PCS-10, I'd just get this.

Lol, truing stand and no chain whip!

Building wheels is the last big thing I've never put the time, effort, money in to really try to learn. Not sure I ever will. I'd rather just buy a reputable hand built wheel from an experienced source.

Wait, all the shit you talk and you haven't built a wheel?

Amateur. I bet your valve stem caps aren't even anodized.

I've got a couple good shops I can go to to get wheels built or headsets pressed but I'm a mechanic so because I can't build a wheel, I want to learn.

I know you're fucking around but wheel building is like the pinnacle of being a true bicycle mechanic. Owning a chain whip is something everyone needs eventually just to swap a worn out cassette. Plus my hard tail is a singlespeed. I'd be proper fucked without a chain whip.

Some people don't evenUSEvalve caps!

You can proper fuck yourself WITH your chain whip buddy.

Silliness aside, here 'tis. You pull the stock 17T in the middle to fit it, so I grabbed a 16T to replace the 15T so that the gear ratio was a wee smoother across the board. So my setup is 11-13-16-19-21-24-28-32-36-42. Supposed to be sunny here tomorrow so I'll take it out on the road and see how it shifts.
