Yea its random. lots of crappy gear like getting struck gives 50% chance of stunning attacker. Best gear I got was like a 80% heal if you kill a enemy while youre low health.

Ah shit I feel like I got really lucky then. Got a piece that chains the effects of certain vigors if you kill an enemy while they're affected by it. Makes bucking bronco my favorite power by FAR.

Picked up the Premium Edition. I have an extra code for an Elizabeth Dress for Female Avatars on the X360 that came with it.

Day off but had to take quite a few breaks. Just finished. Not sure how I feel about the ending but 9.5/10 for sure. I'm guessing it took me 10-11 hours for about 95% completion.

No spoilers, but I watched a guy who streamed the whole game this morning/afternoon (I missed several hours in the middle) and that ending is fantastic. Hardest difficulty took him about 15 hours. Since I missed a bunch I'd like to read what people have to say about it, once people have finished it at least.

Any word on the PS3 version? I'd rather own this on the console but I'm afraid the game's beauty will be greatly diminished compared to the PC.

PC definitely looks better if you're smelling the roses looking at posters point blank - otherwise visual differences are minimal (besides resolution if you're playing at a distance resolution matters)

Sigh, 15 hours of gameplay, what a waste. I can't get any sense of accomplishment or progression in a 15 hour game.

I guess I'll chalk it up as another modern video game dud with the whole lot of them, short of Skyrim and Fallout. I think those are the only games that actually provide a user with a worthwhile 200 hour+ replayable experience and not just some linear crap to rake in some cash from all of the sheep in today's gaming market.

You are trolling right?

To answer a poster above, PC version destroys the console versions graphically if you have a somewhat beefy rig. I manage a * BIT * of slowdown on a 2500k GTX 570 in ultra but it;s only for a brief millisecond. DX11 and lighting effects are fantastic, plus the higher resolutions make it way more immersive. I cannot tell if tesselation is in effect when comparing it to Far Cry 3, Tomb Raider, or Crysis 2. Considering the game is all about atmosphere, if you have the means of a decent enough PC, the choice is a no brainer. If you only have a console, I wouldn't miss this game based on account of that.

So I take it you didn't care for any God of War games either because they are like 15 hours also? The hell are you smoking man. Enjoy it for the great game it is. You will be disappointed with lots of new games then if you want 200+ hours of time invested in them.

There's no tessellation, but it does use all the other DX11 features. PC also has a FOV slider, a far superior alternate mode for post processing, as well as the usual visual enhancement you can get from SweetFX. Overall I don't think it's as technically impressive as Tomb Raider, but it's more stylized and atmospheric and that makes up for some visual fidelity.

Plus, the game is a FPS at its core. Mouse and keyboard is a no-brainer, as it always is for the genre.

And I certainly hope that dude is trolling. It's been a long time since I've read something so retarded.

15 hrs of handcrafted goodness is hard to compare to a huge handcrafted world with only a few hours of true content spaced out by travel/exploration.

Both make good game foundations - but they're different. It would be like saying a TV series is better than movies - in some cases duration does improve quality, often however it does not - sometimes it even hinders it.

Does anybody know if there will change something in the story, depending on which necklace you choose for Elizabeth (the cage/bird choice)?

I am curious about not only this, but other choices you can make in the game one way or another. I hope there are different endings
