I'm actually sort of glad we haven't heard anything about the DLC yet. My hopes is that means they're actually putting some effort into creating some really good DLC rather than just pushing out a couple hours of mediocre content and calling it a day.

Somehow I avoided all knowledge of this game and played through it in two days. Holy awesome.

Just a headsup for those wanting to buy this game. On ebay people sell AMD Never Settle cards. They come free when you buy AMD video cards, and have multiple steam keys for games like Bioshock Infinite/Tomb Raider etc and go dirt cheap. I managed to pick up a Bioshock Infinite/Tomb Raider combo one for $20 and the seller messed up the listing and it included a 3rd game, Farcry Blood Dragon. Also you don't really have to worry about getting scammed because there is no shipping# or proof of shipping, ebay will just refund you if you complain you didn't get the item, incase the seller tries anything shady.

Did anyone here complete 1999 mode without buying the season pass? Lots of people talk about how it's not that much more difficult, but it seems like everyone of them did so with gun upgrades and 5 free infusions.

Yes, but never played any of the other modes so can't really compare. There were probably only two fights that were super difficult.

I did. I didn't find it too difficult except during the "boss" encounters, especially the specter or whatever you want to call it. I gravitate towards the explorer end of the gaming spectrum though, so if you're not interested in searching every nook and cranny then it would be much more difficult.

For the graveyard specter encounter I ended up dying a couple times and resetting the checkpoint once I figured out how she worked. I ended up pretty much cheesing it and blowing my whole load on her while she went around rezzing dudes.

During the vault I ran out of ammo and mana (sorry it's been a few months since I last played and I've forgotten what it's called) and ended up having to sprint out of the safe vault area to collect a mana pot and run back in. I killed her with a couple fire traps.

Lady Comstock (graveyard) is only hard the first time. I played through on Hard, and she took me 4-5 hours. I didn't use spoilers and should have.

On 1999 I think I killed her in about 5 minutes, no reset. The game was a lot easier the second time despite being on 1999.

Bought this at half price during the Steam sale. Fantastic game, makes me wish i had played Bioshock 1&2, but still a great ride. Reading up on things it sounds like there supposed to be some DLC coming out with more lore gameplay, which would be great. Really hoping we get:

A ending shot where Booker and Anna go to Paris. I'd say after all this shit they (and we) went through, we've all earned that happy ending. Not that the little teaser at the end wasn't nice, but still would be nice for closure.

Not trying to be a dick at all, but I don't think you were paying attention to the ending

Not trying to be a dick at all, but I don't think you understood what he was saying. Booker andAnnago to Paris. IE when she's grown up as a normal child.
Ya, I guess. It'd be neat if that was like an aside and not the focus of the DLC, like Alfred seeing Bruce at the Italian cafe.

Definitely play bioshock 1 & 2 if you liked infinite, they are way scarier and perhaps a bit more interesting throughout the life of the game, whereas infinite really only got really interesting closer to the end. Although all the racism and revolution stuff was cool, it never really seemed to hit a real payout. Bioshock 1 anyways, 2 wasn't that good but it sort of keeps you in the universe of 1. You can usually get both for like $5 or $10 during sale times.

I hope the DLC deals with
what the fuck happened that turned booker into fucking charles manson aka comstock, or at least see the timeline in the universe where he decided logically each step to make a floating city and then kill off everyone on Earth. Be cool to play as him and just make those tiny little "well, that seems like a good idea" steps that leads to columbia being built, taking off, and starting that whole philosophy.

I was also bothered a bit by the game suggestion that somehow stopping booker from being baptized/born again stops the creation of comstocks across all universes. If there are an infinite number of universes, it doesn't matter what you do - an infinite number of comstocks will still do that thing and in fact an infinite number of other people will do something similar: comstocks wife will make her columbia and nuke the earth, anna will do it, hell there are an infinite number of universes where the twins destroy humanity.

The second you decide an infinite multiverse is real and/or you can cross between them, it literally doesn't matter what you do because every possible configuration is real and you changing them does nothing because you changing them is just an infinite subset of configurations, along with you not changing them. Which is why the infinite multiverse theory sucks and I hope is not right.

Just be prepared for really bad FPS gameplay in Bioshock 1 & 2, with tedious as hell hacking minigames and such that you are better off using cheats to bypass. I wound up using cheats in both games just for the story and the unbeatable atmosphere.

Spronk..
There aren't infinite universes. Each world was a result of the opposite effect of a conscious choice that was made. (what choices count being up to the writer, pretty much) By eliminating the thread where the B choice (heh) was made, all of the subsequent universes were also cut out. Also note he didn't choose to drown, he was basically murdered.

I would like the DLC to delve deeper into the parts of the story that weren't very clear, such as:

How they created vigors just by observing Rapture? Plasmids only worked because of the work Rapture scientists did with the slugs and we have no slugs in BI.

Why do the residents worship the founding fathers, how did that practice begin, and to what end?

Who is in the bird-daddy and why?

What are the consequences for the current universe when Booker jumps to a new one?
