Aquaman was a very fun, entertaining film, but it was also fucking stupid. I still cant believe they went hard R with this one. So much foot shooting going on there.

Get the main character right. Get Ewan Mcgregor to play the villain. Then fuck up everything else so bad that the movie is probably an unwatchable piece of shit. DC is amazing.

What is surprising is hardly any of the reviews I scanned focused on "girl power."

Yeah I noticed that too on the reviews I saw. I read a few and it sounds like it might be a better movie than I expected....which is not saying much since my expectations were pretty low to begin with.

Still not going to the theater for it, nothing in the reviews indicate that it's that good...but it might be a rental in the future at the very least.

really, many of the ones i see up on RT seem to focus on it

i'm prob seeing it friday, doesn't cost me anything other than time so we'll see. I have zero trust in general critics to be honest anymore, and the 2-3 critics whose opinions generally track with mine (angry joe, double toasted, RLM) haven't posted reviews yet on YT

I didn't say none. I mean, that's 3 out of 52+.

But, I was just reading blurbs, not reading full reviews.

critics play a little trick sometimes, they will trash a movie but tick off all the progressive boxes and give it a 5 star review anyway. you cant go by RT reviews anymore. rise of skywalker is still locked at 86%

its hard to gauge charlie because he puts a positive spin on everything, but he did drop a lot of hints of what is going on. "very much like deadpool" "very much like John wick", "they rewrote x character completely different" .

Charlie is alright, but you can at least get a good guess about the movie from him. He's not gonna go all sjw or anything on it so I like watching his reviews.

yeah, i followed him for years and posted his reviews and easter eggs on CW shows here when i was still interested in them. too much of him can be irritating. small doses he's ok.

Yeah, I don't get it. What kind of self-respect do you have when you agree to do the press tour and spout this garbage as part of the marketing spiel? Are you that much of a whore, Ewan? I had a HUGE bro-crush on McGregor after the Long Way Round mini series where he and another guy motorcycled around the world. McGregor really came across as a genuinely nice guy and seemed super cool. But he really seems to have self-castrated for this paycheck.

I am disappoint. He went from "must see" status to "get fucked" in one movie to me.

It's literally going to be everyone on the press tour. This is at the studio level and doing press is something you do for movies.
