Lol. I literally keep a tab open just for Elon's tweets+replies. He's the only guy I follow that I read every single tweet. I watch tons of his interviews on Youtube. I'm a big nerd so I can't not like the guy, but I'm not a sycophant and not afraid to poke fun.
Elon embarrasses himself by proclaiming to know better than all the cypherpunks who have devoted their lives to crypto over the last 10+ years. When Elon talks about engineering rockets and cars, he says a lot of brilliant stuff, like 'you're always wrong, try to be less wrong'. But when he talks about crypto he mentally throws all that out. Maybe his mind is going back to the Paypal days, I dunno. The recent Everyday Astronaut interview he did was brilliant though and I recommend.
I never said that 'only experts should be listened to'. In fact I implied the opposite. Is Vitalik not an expert? There are no cypherpunk diplomas, guy. Elon is making arguments that have been hashed out at length during the block size war because he hasn't read the history. He's not 'going back to first principals' and coming up with some novel new obvious idea that people somehow missed. Maybe that happens with rockets but not crypto.
I don't follow Elon and I've only ever watched maybe three long-ish documentary style videos about him. So, when you say X, Y, and Z about Elon without saying why or quoting him, it sounds like an ad-hominem, especially in the context of "Hurr, Elon's an idiot."
So, this makes the case you're making a lot more clear to me, thanks.
As far as Vitalek goes, why wouldn't him being on the Dogecoin Foundation create less FUD, since he's a bonefied expert? Why is Elon being a Dogecoin shill the end of the world when it comes to DOGE?
